08 V8V door locking advice please

Twice recently I have stepped out of the car and pressed the remote to lock the door and nothing has happened. Usually lights would flash, i would hear a clunk and door mirrors would fold. On the occasions this didnt happen I opened driver door again, shut it and the locking was then as normal.

Is this ' nothing at all' response' on two instances an early sign of module failure?

Any other test suggestions to home in on fault?

you sure its not the remote itself?

Check that the window is doing it's little "lift" after the door has closed, if not the door doesn't know it's been shut. Worth running a damp cloth over the door shuts and around window. If this doesn't do it, then the door modules can be reset - the "how to" is in the sticky at the top of the forum.

Thanks guys I dont think it is the remote as if i open the door then shut it again it works as expected. I will try the advice given. Will hard reset on door modules stop my mirrors folding on locking and need a reflash?
