Come on Dave over 11 hours since your planned pick up without an update or are you still driving?
Well we are home now.Been driving around showing the family. In a word...awsome !!!Had the windows down through the two tunnels on the M25. Fuse 22 had already been removed. The sound was amazing. Had one hickup at the petrol station.I had forgot to ask how the fuel flap was opened. Had to drive out again to phone the seller to find out. When I got back a lady came over from her car and said that the car was absolutly gorgeous, and that the amount on the petrol pump looked like it hurts, but it must be worth it.
It was because as I was getting in after paying a guy shouted our "bloody nice car pal".
So I hit the slip road onto the M25 and floored it. I can't reveal how fast it went on here for obvious reasons. But she was howling like a banshee. I will add lots of pictures tomorrow. Thanks for all you interest and encouragement guy. We are gonna love this car. I'm not even going to ask about service costs yet.

Sounds like you might be quite happy with your first day of ownership then.
I used to find that with the TVRs you were approached by petrolheads and those who had no idea what it was, especially in the Sagaris, but with the Aston Martins it just seems to be general appreciation of a lovely car.
I hope you and Diane enjoy it for many years.

Would be great if you took some pics of the rear of the car Dave, I'm considering changing the lights to the clear from red and our cars are the same colour and age. Just finding it hard to decide which I prefer.
Pics on the way later on. It's peeing down Here. But I can take a picture of the lovely rear end whilst it in the garage. I'm not getting it wet (yet).Looking very shiny there Dave.
There is a meet just outside Bishops Stortford tomorrow that I know some of the TVR crew are going to, would be good to see your beast there and to catch up if you have the time. Don't know what they tend to get there but the pic on their web page, link below, shows some E Types.

If not I am sure I will get to see you and the Vantage at an event soon.

Thanks for that Dave. I just can't decide! I think your clear ones give the rear end a more modern look, but my red ones maybe look a little meaner against the silver, if that is even possible for a rear end? I'll leave as is for now until I can see another MY07 in the flesh that has them, I think that'll be the only way to be sure. Hope you managed to get it out of the garage today!

Sorry can't go. Of to Harwich for a day at sea on the paddle steamer Waverly. Pair of clear rear lights on eBay for about 800 quid. Phew sounds a bit steep.

Congratulations on your new car and welcome to the Aston section of P'Heads from another TVR owner (note; not ex-owner) I decided to go the other way and keep my Griff to get my V8 fix and opted to go into the world of classic Aston Martins. Best of both worlds. I've had the MkIII for 7 years now and met some great friends through the AMOC. Funnily people seem to think P'Heads is for owners of new Astons but most of the tours I've been on have had a large number of DB9s, V8Vs and V12Vs etc. But I guess it's like the TVRCC depends on how active/friendly your area is and what you want out of a club. Nice car by the way

If the AMOC is as friendly as the TVRCC. It will be great. Thanks for you comment on the car
And another TVR owner just browsing on the Aston Forum because I admire Aston's. Must be some connection me thinks as it seems more than a coincidence that so many TVR owners past or present are on the thread.
Lovely looking car Dave.... I hope you enjoy every mile driven
I can fully understand that there must come a time when the TVR experience may come to an end, when maybe it's a more relaxed ambiance that you and your partner seek... And the Aston route must surely tick many many boxes.

Just don't forget your red trousers... OK, so there's a bit of a theme here !!
I too am a person from the TVR fold, in need of a V8 so have two cars on the radar, but don't know too much about either !
I know what falls off most TVR's first or where to look for potential problems, but what should I be looking for with a V8 Vantage?
There are a few cars around the £30k mark at the moment, one I like the look of is carrying 70k miles.
I'm looking for a toy for the weekends, so not a daily drive.
What's the thought process about a V8 Vantage with this type of mileage?
My normal thought process is if a car has done that sort of mileage, either a: it is a good one, or b: it will have had work on it to make it good !!
But I know that doesn't always work out that way.
Any words of wisdom anyone?
Cheers Allan
