Yep got it thanks. Just tried it, all nice and simple. Also tried changing the Sat Nav clcok, great fun watching the analogue hands go round on the dash! Do you happen to know with the Sat Nav clock set to 'automatic' if it picks up the correct time on the continent?
I don't think I was patient enough when we arrived in Santander and did it manually when nothing happened immediately. When we got home it didn't change straight but second time I switched the car on the time was right - and I didn't even see the hands on the analogue clock go round!

whoever heard of large capacity quiet V8s, V12s etc.
Err Jaguar - enough said?
Err F type - enough said smile
Yes, but it doesn't change the fact that they've made an awful lot of very quiet V8s and V12s over the years. Anyway Kev, why have you decided to change your forum name a year into Aston Martin ownership? Too confusing.

Agreed they have made many cars that have been quiet, note to self shouldn't make sweeping statements especially ones that aren't correct smile.

Changed the name as over the years it has been a few things related to the current car but J12KJR has been on all bar one of my cars.
This way when I change car again, although I am being told that is not happening, I can keep the same PH name.
Sorry for any confusion. Wait until I try to log in on a different computer and spend ages shouting at it because I know my log in name is LaserSag.

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome!

Is there an iphone app I can use to access this forum going forward?

Interior pics will be up soon once I get home before it's dark!

Any tips on polishing these cars or a recommended detailer in the SW London area? The dealer said they would do a deep polish and add a protective coating, but all I can see is swirls in the paint.... FYI I am extremely anal about these things, I used to spend circa 6 hours a week cleaning and polishing my Cayman S.

Another one: there is a hole on the inside of the outer fuel cap, that you can slot the inner cap onto rather than rest it on the car.
True and it is probably me but I can never get the bloody thing to stay in there and it clangs about all over the bodyowrk when it falls out. Hey-ho
the fuel flap is different on the roadster and therefore the hole for the cap is in a different position - it is much more stable to hold the cap on the roadster................bl**dy hell I'm an anorak ........

Contact Paddy328 on here 07909 541048, he runs Emerald Detailing and is used by many on these forums. He does a first class job especially if you keep him supplied with cake.

If you don't have a space for Paddy to do the car in, Elite in Knightsbridge do a good job in an underground car park, and they are not as expensive as their location might suggest. I also heard that you can take your car to Nicholas Mee in Ravenscourt Park just for their polishing chap, and he is also very good.

Top of the Aston Martin forum, there is a Frequently Asked Question Wiki. Has a link to how to clean / wax the car etc. But probablt best to get it detailed first.

There are also other tips in there you may find useful.

Nice car BTW.

Congratulations, a stunning beast, although not sure who that strange grinning chap is in the background biggrin
My 1st tip.. after the exhaust fuse is removed, when you next wish to go for a spirited jaunt..... remove the rear parcel shelf and lay it neatly in the boot to allow the full surround sound exhaust note smile

Should you not use the car for more than a few days (god forbid) you can turn the engine over without it firing to get the oil pressure up to prevent engine wear/damage. To do this simply start as normal but with throttle peddle held to the floor. When oil pressure light goes out, stop turning over then start as normal, then enjoy!
Guys - is this the same for the V12 (2012). Would hate to try it and find it fires and I've blown the bloody doors off!
Cheers

Collected mine yesterday as well from Stratstone in Cardiff.

Delighted so far though ive noticed some bubbling on the bottom the doors that i missed.
Stratstone have said they will fix next week.

Thanks - glad I am within 'just about' parameters and haven't blown the bl00dy doors off!

On another note can anyone tell me if it IS possible to have the radio channel buttons as a phone speed dial? Failing miserably trying to program this, so, coupled with the lack of a hands free phone holder (I am not drilling the dash!!!) it can be a pain.

How about using one of these?

Plugs in the 12V socket (so obviously charges the 'phone as well).
