Hi all,

I thought I'd come and say hi to everyone as yesterday I collected my first Aston Martin and couldn't be more pleased!

Spec below:
2010
4.7 V8
20k miles
Hammerhead Silver
Sports Pack
Carbon Sports Seats
Premium Stereo
1 Owner

I also wanted to pick peoples brain about the secret tricks this car can do, ie. I discovered yesterday if you how both the L and R wing mirror buttons together, they fold in and out. Anything else I should know?

Thanks,
Rob

Nice car cool

You can remove the tax disc as of today too.
Gives a nice clean uncluttered windscreen.

Done this..... In fact the AM garage suggested I did it before I left!

Looks lovely, welcome to the AM fold.Sorry but I can't help out with any secrets.
I would suggest getting a remote switch fitted for the exhaust flaps, lets you be in stealth mode on those early morning starts also stops the flaps seizing in the open position.

Stealth mode doesn't work for my neighbors they still hear me - Yeah. OK they are very friendly and love the sound.

Cheers

Should you not use the car for more than a few days (god forbid) you can turn the engine over without it firing to get the oil pressure up to prevent engine wear/damage. To do this simply start as normal but with throttle peddle held to the floor. When oil pressure light goes out, stop turning over then start as normal, then enjoy!

Lovely car BTW, rare to get lightweight seats in a non-V12, non V8S Vantage. Can we have an interior picture too? Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Congratulations and welcome to the wonderful world of Aston Martin. ENJOY!

If ever you do a foreign tour (which is highly recommended) you can change the digital format to KM's from miles. Just press the read button and on board computer button on the indicator stalk at the same time for a couple seconds. You can also change your sat nav as well and makes driving on the Continent much easier.

Does that just change Miles and KMs? My manual implied it was basically metric to imperial or something so I assume the mpg and everything goes to l/km ir whatever

Had a quick look at the Garmin Sat Nav yesterday and was not sure what I could change to what

No need to stop turning over. Just release the throttle peddle and it will fire up!

My neighbours, bar 1 lot who are complete dicks so don't care about them, love the sound so no problem. I am though conscious that our office is on a quiet street where one of the homes has 2 young children. So when I am in early I don't want to upset them especially as the couple are very friendly.
Rest of the time though I would agree and it is as it should have left the factory, whoever heard of large capacity quiet V8s, V12s etc.

Your dealer will be able to programme your mirrors so they fold in when you arm the alarm.

All change - speed, mileage and average speed all show in KM's and you show l/km. on the Sat Nav it is just changing miles to KM's so it shows speed limits, your speed and your distance in KM's which I found really useful.

This is a good one, it usually takes me all the Eurotunnel journey reading the manual to remember which two buttons.

Another one: there is a hole on the inside of the outer fuel cap, that you can slot the inner cap onto rather than rest it on the car.

Yep got it thanks. Just tried it, all nice and simple. Also tried changing the Sat Nav clcok, great fun watching the analogue hands go round on the dash! Do you happen to know with the Sat Nav clock set to 'automatic' if it picks up the correct time on the continent?
