Hi guys

I'm picking up my new 2009 vantage 4.7 couper on Wednesday which I'm very much looking forward to but I saw when I turned the car on/audio on it came up with DB9 where the vantage premium sound should have come up? Has anyone got any ideas why that's happened and it doesn't say vantage like it should???

Presumably the software can show the appropriate title, depending upon the car the unit is fitted to.

You are very observant to notice this before taking delivery. Your dealer needs to sort the matter.

Under the bonnet will be a plate showing the name of the man (I think at present they are all male) who did the final inspection of your car. If you ever meet him don't be too cross, because there are some people who cannot tell the difference between a DB9 and a Vantage (so the saying goes). smile

Enjoy your car, and please post photos when you are ready.

It would make me slightly suspicious that the unit has been changed at some time. If your car is being sold as having Premium Audio make sure it has before handing over the cash because I'm told it is not really feasible to upgrade from Standard to Premium. It was on my list of must have options (along with Sports Pack). Enjoy your car, they are fantastic.

Managed to get a few snaps of it at the dealers, unfortunately the plate isn't mine but great looking car black interior with white stitching! Very pleased!

I'm 100% sure it has the premium sound as after listening to both systems you can really tell the difference and for me I personally wouldn't buy a car without it like you said it's a must have option! Just find it strange that somewhere along the line they have changed the settings, I'm sure "Barry Griffin" wouldn't have missed that on final inspection

I'm sure the only problem is that the dealer has replaced the unit with another following failure from another car from stock. I am sure it will not spoil your enjoyment of the car and if thats the only issue you have, then I dont think I would be too concerned.

You do need to check the car over again, before parting with any money. If you are not happy with anything, you need to point it out there and then. Sometimes, the dealer, not all, will have a little lapse in memory, or say "they all do that sir", if you come back after taking delivery, so get things sorted.

Regarding the radio, when you turn it on, if it doesn't say anything other than "Premium Audio" on the display, get it sorted. Its on the car listing for sale, so it should be there and it should be right, so tell them.

Hope you have fun, which I am sure you will, I'm off out in mine in an hour or so, love these cars cloud9
