True yes

OP...... When I decided to change my V12V Carbon Black for a CB DBS I was convinced I had found the right car(2010 model) but felt the numbers were just TOO one sided and made the decision to walk away. Strangely enough it was October/November last year. After a sulk of a few months I found the PERFECT ( for me) car, that was a late September 2012 model and did the deal in March. More money, yes, but worked for me at the time and on reflection, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing, was definitely the right car and am so glad I walked away from the original deal, difficult as it was.
Stick with it matey biggrin the right car for you is out there yes

Cheers guys, it is such a shame as this really did tick every box for me (though to be honest I would have been happier to pay the extra for a 2012 model - but it seems that the Casino Royale colour and Alcantara inserts and steering wheel are impossible to find in newer models.

How about the height position on the drivers seat? I would have expected it to have the same range as the passenger seat but it only moves up a tiny amount in this car and I felt very low sat in it. The guy said this was normal (about an inch of height travel) but then was surprised when the passenger seat rose up about 5 inches.

Is that just the way it is, or is their perhaps a fault on the drivers seat?

Thanks again!

Thanks for thinking of me, unfortunately I have seen it and spoke to them about it. It doesn't have the Alcantara inserts and steering wheel that I really want. If it had the inserts I would snap it up and pay for the steering wheel.

I know it is a matter of taste but they really appeal to me and make the car stand out.

Here is a pic of the interior on 'mine frown'

That looks very interesting...

OP - I think you have been more than reasonable. I would have thought there's a few £k negotiating margin in their price as well. Happy hunting ...
When you get it, you'll love it.

I think Alcantara inserts can be done by a competent trimmer

Luckily for the rest of us AMDBSNICK is away at the moment or we would be having photos of the Tandori Express posted up. Yet again wink

Got to love Stratstones sometimes, the admin fee is very frustrating and while its splitting hairs, if you're willing to pay full whack they can stick it.

There are other DBS's out there and your moving into the right time of year to buy as it seems AM's take a small dip between now and Feb (or at least it appeared to be the case when I was watching the market for both of mine)

^^^ agree with that. Prices seem to soften around this time of year up to spring.

Very true. Not so long ago it was single figures the number of cars available for sale in UK (even for Vantage S Coupe at one point), now approaching 20

Hi All

Well, after things getting worse (they actually told me my retention deposit does not hold the car for me as I haven't signed the order form???!!!) they have agreed to replace the disk pads, they have fixed the height adjustment on the drivers seat and they have waived the £145 admin fee (I told them this was a deal breaker) and so it now looks like everything is in order and I am going to buy!

How any company can make it such a painful experience to buy a £100k motor I have no idea!

I took the Bentley to the specialist they selected and the diagnostics said there were no faults. So I think I will keep it and sell it privately after winter.

Thanks for all your feedback - anything else I should know before I sign the order form....?

Pics on my drive should be available this weekend if all goes well!

Cheers

I bet the previous chap at Part Ex time was crying mind ;-) Anyway enjoy the car despite the non-deal and doing your own 140 point check - its a very special car. KF
