Sat NAV traffic - what am I missing

I have a 2006 Vantage.

The traffic option does not work at all on the sat NAV. Do I need to buy a subscription or something for this to work?

If you go abroad it works Something to do with AML paying for licences to use it.

TMC will not work in the UK as AML did not buy a licence from iTis at ~£5 per fleet car. No new mapping discs will ever make it work. Only option is to transplant a Volvo TMC equipped sat nav module or more realistically buy a HDD car which does have TMC.
