Well, the N400 is still there, Marleen proposed me a N430 and now, well.....Came in another car, and after a lot of big boy maths and big child thinking, talking with a friend who is also an Aston owner (he owns a DB6, a DB7, a V8 and maybe a Vantage some day, plus some other cars ) I'm going for a V12V !
Budget is of course higher, but the car is something else.It is closer to my ex Porsche and I'm entering on some way in the world of supercars. A 510 BHP engine deserve some respect !...
Same conditions as for the N400,(unfortunately not the same price
) that car is beautiful, 2011, a 2010 MY, Hammerhead silver, Obsidian black inside with lightweight seats, front parking sensors, premium sound system and "smokers's Pack" (no single idea of what it is! This isn't a car for people smoking cigars and wearing slippers!
) 27000km, one year extended waranty, P Zero Tyres all around, new front splitter (guess why?) brakes are in good condition (carbon/ceramic disks...they aren't cheap!) and service done.
First owner of course, reason to sale: The previous owner bought a Vanquish...(it's a good reason indeed)
So, two weeks to go. Car is being prepared and hopefully I will have it the day just before Xmas...Thanks Santa....;)

I will never buy a car like this one without an extended waranty...and without the 140 points check from an offical dealer...
Aston's bits prices aren't cheap, and so many things can happen.
I bought the car on the condition to have full history, (including repair and maintenance bills), and Marleen sold that car new, so she is aware of most of what happened to it.
I spoke to the mechanic too (Tom) he knows the car pretty well, and garanties it is in prime condition.
Times are harder and harder to make that kind of money, it will be silly to trow it on any car without precations...
I drove the N400 (4.3), the N430 (4.7) and the V12V...it is more and more power and more and more efficiency. just upgraded every time. But there is of course, as everybody says a serious difference between a 4.3 and a 4.7. The V12 being something else. (on cold raods like now a little too much trottle in thirt gear and wheels are spinning...P Zero effect maybe?)

Well, in my opinion there are some positive points to buy a V12V.
First one being that the V12V is the last one to be proposed with a manual box. In my eyes, it is a plus, because you "live" with te car a lot more as a semi automatic ...
yes, there is a risk of depreciation in the two next years, (if you look well, you can find a car on his bottom value) but I'm not concerned about it because I want to make it a keeper, and we are living the last moments of these supercars, we are going to hybrid and all kind of strange technology cars, this is an ending world....So, there will be always people to love the "old fashion" style, like there are people loving to drive a 70's car...
About a Porsche, no, thanks...had a lot of them,(7) and i'm bored...yes, it is strong power, yes, it is very drivable, yes, it is super efficient, but it is still an old car...And you can find 996 turbos at bargain prices, wich means depreciation is even faster as for a V12 also because production numbers are much more important (only 1000 V12 build)Way less exclusive, not the same world, not the same image...A Porsche is so common...
And not dreaming about reliablity of Porsches, they have also problems, like any other car, time of the air cooled unbreakable engines is over , if you want to play a little with the trottle, they are also very thirsty, no miracles there)
there was a joke about someone hesitating between a Jaguar and a Mercedes....
the client test drove a Jaguar, was very happy with it, but was still hesitating for a Merc...
the vendor asked
"do you want to test drive a Mercedes?"
"yes, of course" answered the client
"Ok, no problem.....hep, TAXI!"...(in Belgium, most of the taxis are Mercedes)
I think there you have your answer...
About Aston Vantage, you can find a lot of cars with very low mileage, in excellent condition, the main rule being patient...
look around, drive them all, and find just the car of your dreams...
