I am trying to organise a little trip to Le Mans 2015 wth a couple of mates (will be an AM and MCL convoy).
Although I have been to many F1 races, I have (shamelessly) never been to Le Mans....

We are planning to go on the Friday as pitlane is then accessible to general public, until Sunday morning.

We would like to get into the thick of the action but at the same time avoid camping (especially if we have our ladys with us). But it looks like being close to the event and a good hotel are not compatible !

I was wondering if anybody here had any good tips with regards to attending and where to stay ?

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Done it twice with Nick Mee Club Tertre Rouge. Very good. Basic but decent accommodation in a gite with shared bathrooms 2 miles from th circuit. All meals and drinks included. Shuttle buses whenever you need them. Lunch in the restaurant above the pits. Nick arranges visits from some of the drivers too and a film night after the race, arrive Friday, depart Monday. I think it's about £1100.

Hopefully staying at a chateu about 10k from the circuit again this year. Only problem is the traffic queuing to get in each morning. I know this because I could see it from the helicopter. Nah, not putting myself through that again!

Thanks Guys.
Found a little house within Le Mans at a few minutes walk from the track. 3 bedrooms (there are 3 of us going).
Will be leaving on Thursday to get good access to paddock and cars on the Friday.
Will be heading back on Sunday morning to avoid mad rush post race.
Looking forward to it. Current convoy from EuroTunnel includes me in the 12C and a friend in his DB9.
If anyone is also crossing on Thursday morning, let me know and we can grow the convoy !

Race starts at 3 the day before so will see most of it.
I was told from insiders that the best opportunity to enjoy the action is actually on Friday.
So we focussed on being there all day Friday.
But, if we feel like staying later on Sunday, we can always change our plans on the day and leave later.
