Thanks to all the helpful comments - my vist to the factory will no doubt add more fun once some of the colours actually seen in the flesh.
If it were a weekend car then would be really tempted to go more adventurous although Mako currently in the lead partially due to thanks to Cayman's link.
Congratulations and have fun making your decisions. As Grant said it is a really personal thing and some people will love what you chose, others less so. Go for what makes you happy. If it were a weekend car then would be really tempted to go more adventurous although Mako currently in the lead partially due to thanks to Cayman's link.
I drove the V12VS at Grange a few weeks back and loved the lightweight seats. Always had sports seats before because I couldn't get in or out easily with previous lightweights but these seemed much better. Would probably give them ago if we ordered another one. Think they suit the character of the S very well.
I see you are going to the factory to spec your car. I did that on my first Aston intending on a Tungsten and Bitter Chocolate combination but ended up with meteorite/Black Chery. Whilst it was nice we always wished we had gone for the Tungsten combo and it took us three more cars to get there. Might be an idea to take 24 hours to reflect before you commit. Personally, I would not dismiss Tungsten as a colour - for obvious reasons. Lots of different facets to it and is very easy to keep looking immaculate. Hides the dirt pretty well as well.
Make sure you get to the factory when it is being built if you can. Fabulous experience. Have fun!!!!

All of this. Make sure you get to the factory when it is being built if you can. Fabulous experience. Have fun!!!!
I originally decided on Tungsten and then 24 hours changed to Lightning (there were a few threads on this 'calling all Tungsten owners' I think was one and owners kindly posted pics of their cars so you will see a lot more there) Reasons for my changee were I wanted a lighter colour and more contrast to my interior plus Tungsten is a so called 'Fast Track' colour and I hate that term and in my head (only) it felt less bespoke. You have a rare opportunity to factory spec a car so the world is your oyster.
Also there are three NEW 2015 colours to consider, Diavolo Red, Divine Red and Sea Storm. Would be great to see these in the flesh, Sea Storm looks interesting and slightly darker than Tungsten.

I struggle with Diavolo Red because I don't think anyone will know whether you have paid £2k extra (or whatever the price differential is) for the 'special' colour or got Volcano. I am still of the view that they have lightened the colour of Volcano to bring in this Zagato colour. I have seen Divine Red on a new Rapide S and it is very dark - but when the sun comes out - WOW! sukh_m said:
Congrats, that is a stunning car
Interested to know your reasons for change from V12V to V12VS (apart from the numbers!)?
Cheers - it is virtually total options spec car. there's hardly a box not been ticked so I think it's a good 2nd hand buy and I squeezed a nice p/x deal out if HROwens. An early Xmas present to myself :-)Interested to know your reasons for change from V12V to V12VS (apart from the numbers!)?
TBH and being honest with myself since we bought the DB9.2 V the V12V has not seen much use :-(. Maybe it's not 'different' enough (in my mind)? Having tracked and roaded the 12S I can see that's it's more hardcore for my own driving as opposed to more GT style which the 9V does superbly. I drive in the Alps a fair bit and the paddles simply work better in that environment (IMHO).
China Grey is a 'marmite' couloir but as the PH review with the 991 turbo said it has a 'Military'ook to it with full blamed out options. Well miss the Ceramic Grey on the 12 for sure though
HROwen have just finished the new graphics paintwork so it's nearly ready to go - just need the decades to get swapped over (oh - and to pay for it)

Have to say I've done 17k miles in my V12roadster with lightweights and never missed the lack of heated seats :-) Having far too much fun to think about that plus the heating really isn't bad in the car
Good man as ever each to their own, but the risk of frostbite on the todger makes me err on the side of safety jonby said:
