Was planning on taking the Vantage out last night.

Fired it up. Opened the near side window for some reason. Then went out to scrape some ice away. Got back in and shut the door and the instant the door closed, everything cut out!

The main 60A fuse now keeps blowing. I've tried chasing the cables from the battery, but access is tricky and I can't seem to get the carpets up to trace them back toward the door area. I can only get as far as the battery isolator switch.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Any advice on how to get at the wiring running from the battery around the door, or details on the wiring arrangement would be greatly appreciated. It's parked on the street at the moment with the window down!!

Cheers, JP

Don't know about the routing but iirc you had electrical issues with your headlight? Did that ever get sorted?

Yes, still have the intermittent headlight fault - it comes on more often than not, so hopefully just a dodgy connection somewhere. Getting it towed to the garage tomorrow, so will have them look at the headlight at the same time - I'll post an update on what the causes are once it's all sorted.

If it's blowing 60A fuses that's a big dead short somewhere !
Have you checked the point in the engine bay where the main cable can rub?

Finally got the car back from Aston after having them investigate it for over a week. They had to take the seat and carpets out to access the cables. They couldn't find any obvious cause - checked everything thoroughly... wiring from the CEM, around the wheel arch and under the bonnet fuse box. Cleaned all the connectors and after that seems to have been working fine. Bit of a mystery, but they think it might be a problem with the CEM if it happens again - fingers crossed it doesn't!!
