Heated Seat Recall - Vantage

Was told by my dealer last week that this recall has "quarantine" status i.e. they must carry it out on any eligible car which is brought into their workshops for any purpose before they give the car back to the customer.
This isn't policy for all dealers as had my DB9 delivered back to me today despite the parts not arriving in time for the recall to be sorted. Which I am pleased about! Grant3 said:

Can someone say if it is a big job, or just a two minute switch change while having a coffee at the dealer?
It's not just a switch change. A new module needs to be installed.I don't know, however, if this is just a simple 'plug and play' change or if it's something slightly more involved.
Hi, just writing to say I received a recall letter from AM this morning offering a safety recall to install an electronic "supervisor" module which will monitor the correct operation of the seat heater. If it senses incorrect operation, the seated will be isolated and not work.
So it seems the problem isn't going to be corrected, instead the heater will be permanently switched off if the insulation to the electrical harness is damaged. I wonder how much a new one costs?!
Anyone got any ideas about how this insulation may become damaged? Is it if I ( or my wife) weigh too much? Do we need to stay below a particular weight? Have I got to break this news to my wife??

I haven't received a letter yet.
I've got mine booked in at Strats in Wilmslow for an unrelated item. I decided to ring them and ask if they could look into the seat recall at the same time.
In reply I received a copy of the work order. Not only was the seat recall work on the sheet, they had a list of items they wanted to check from its last service that they wanted to keep an eye on.
Feeling looked after here..

I had this problem back in 2011. Fixed it short term by removing a fuse, longer term by disconnecting a plug at the back of the seat. Stratstones wanted £1k or so to replace the seat elements but I wasn't convinced the elements could be faulty. After all the one thing that was certain is that they were getting hot! Now they know it's a module failure following insulation failure, maybe it can be fixed at reasonable cost?
