Hi

Again thanks for your replies.

The car in question is still under Aston's initial three year warrantee till 28/9/15 and the dealer are very happy to also put an RAC warrantee on the car, plus let it go to a local Aston Martin dealership for a service and inspection.

Andy

Andy,

You are about to buy an Ultimate Edition DBS. If that were me I would be on Cloud 9.

The only thing missing from all 3 cars is a decent knob wink

Lotto on here viewed a "Romans" car if that is one being considered. I'm sure he will be along in due course with his thoughts.

Keep us posted biggrin

Hi Nick

Romans car is one of the cars I am looking/thinking about so any views on it would be a help, it could save me a lot of time and money!

I am not a great fan of the diamond look but the silver stitching is not so in your face as some.

I will of course keep you informed.

My biggest problem is waiting for the sale of my collection of TVR's, so that can help pay for it!

Nick is right, I did view a car at Romans. Just had a quick look and its a different car but will share my thoughts about the car I looked at.

Obviously Romans are an extremely high profile , respected dealer but I was very disappointed at the car and attitudes I encountered. It was a late DBS that the perma-tanned medallion man assured me was "all serviced, prepped and ready to go sir" It was far from that! I enquired about the body filler shrinkage lines on the NSR wheel arch, missing bolts and damaged near side door shut around the door latch area and the chunk of rubber missing from the offside front tyre which corresponded with the rim damage. He assured me that there was no such issues on the car and when I asked to come out from behind his cosy little desk and brave the little breezes that particular day he assured me that all their cars were always A1. Apparently all Astons leave the factory with poor paintwork and they, Romans, would send it to a dealer to get the fault that wasn't there rectified. Needless to say I walked !!
Of course this was only my experiences :-(

To be fair the Ultimate they have looks nice.....tbh the quilted trim still doesn't flaot my boat BUT IF IT DOES YOU THEN GO FOR IT....you won't be disappointed with owning a DBS

Thanks for your comments, I agree the quilted look is not my first choice, this one is better with the silver stitching than the other two for sale with the red stitching.

The problem is to get one of the last doesn't give you many to chose from and then there's the colour choice again this restricts you even more.

But then if you want exclusivity .bow

Yes they do. If you get it services, 9/10 the check is included at no extra cost. I don't know about if you take out a warranty but its worth asking.
This is good advice - my service picked up things the 140 point check missed (different dealers mind).

Also consider Warranty Direct - they cover wear and tear and will deal too.

Hi

I have been offered a 2010 Carbon Black edition with 13k miles on the clock from a main dealer.

Any thoughts on them as a option.

Not sure you can go far wrong with any dbs really ,the factors to consider are what transmission you want and what color ,and what your budget is.

I was looking at the Silver Fox one at HR Owen today. What a fantastic looking car. Pics don't do it justice.

As you will see from above, some dealers are better than others! Mine is now 3 years old, and is a wonderful drive. Try a Volante and Coupe side by side to see which you prefer. The latter is more a driver's car, but both are great. I have several AMs but even with an in-warranty car would get an independent specialist to give it the once over before buying. No dealer I have yet bought from has baulked at this request. Given the price of new discs, insist on them being checked (heated and weighed) against spec before buying - only really need to check one front.

That's not a red one

It's a Carbon edition and the exact name of the colour escapes me

eta or maybe even an Ultimate
