I was on the list for one of these.
I cancelled when I saw the spec which to me looked like a mild upgrade plus some garish body additions not,IMHO, compatible with the Aston brand.
Had I kept my slot I would have specced in one colour (probably black) with calipers and spoiler tips in orange or yellow.
I have a Speciale and am waiting to hear if I get the nod for an F12 "GTO".These two cars as well as GT3 RS and McLaren Longtail are completely re-engineered cars and in a different performance league from GT12.
For me the reason I cancelled was price.I was not prepared to pay £250k for limited dynamic changes which seem to deliver little more than a V12 Vantage S.
I am sure the car will be brilliant in its own way and that purchasers including OP will have both a great car and a sound investment (part of me wishes I had not cancelled) but Aston has to offer more if it wants to join the limited edition game.

The 675LT isn't a track day special as the GT12 is
Its a lightened 650S with a tad more power and torque
It was over subscribed by 200%
It's a monster and I'd take one smile
I'd say the complete opposite. It's more a track day special than the Aston is. Stripping 100kg out of the McLaren would be a damn sight harder than 100kg from the Aston! There is a space in my fantasy garage for a 675LT, not really fussed about super cars but love that one!

Jonby - it does look a lot better in one colour! I still think the design doesn't suit all the bits bolted on afterwards though, looks a lot less cohesive than the regular V12S in my opinion.

You need to have a look at how they have lost the weight!
Easy win from light weight seats
Another easy win from no carpets (so the CF tub shows)
Even lighter wheels (lighter than P1 wheels)
Plexiglass rear window
Titanium exhaust
CF body panels
Lightened engine components
Removal of the AC controls and incorporation in to the touch panel console
No roll cage as standard

They've not deleted the AC and they've added 3 speakers to the stereo (rather than delete it)
Its not a track day special but it will surprise a lot that are!

The GT12 is (was as you cannot order either now) similar money, the 675LT is 365kg! lighter with 70PS more power.
For me its just no competition, but then we are all very different!
(still wish there was a roadster version of the LT frown )

Like I said each to their own smile
Being an engineering type I enjoy the technical aspects more and can "forgive" some of the looks.
My daily is an M135i bought on the same basis.
I'm firmly in the camp that the prefacelift V8 is the best looking, as it got older they have driven it further and further in to the Halfords store collecting more "tat"
Unfortunately its not just Aston that do this, most manufacturers use it as a way to distinguish models with technical updates.

Perhaps many years in the future, it might be like the E-Type, where it is the early model which is the one wanted.
With Vantage, it might be the MY 2009, 10, and 11 for the V8, and pre-2012.25 for the V12.

Yep I'd say that's the "sweet spot"

Here is what I really think about the GT12

Styling is without doubt one of the most agressive AM of all time, nevertheless AM just don't go well with wings. The decos are awful and way over the top. My perfect spec would be a single tone colour without any accent nor wing, the massive ducktail alone does the job nicely.

As much as I love AM, let's face it, there is just no comparison between GT12 and rest of the pack ( 675 LT, GT3 RS, Speciale) in terms of speed nor technology due to lack of fund. On the other hand, GT12 offers something others have long forgotten. FUN. The chassis, steering feedback, engine noise and balance are all very old school and this maybe the last of the analogue supercar there is. This is why I am sticking with my order and not the 675 LT.

Sure 675 LT is a magnificent car in its own way , but I am certain Macca will spoil the party by introducing another super limited edition with addtional 30hp every other month.

If I can persuade AM into fitting a manual gearbox, I reckon they'd have a really good shot at winning this year's Evo COTY, but after all it is really down to how Mr Palmer wants to play it.

hehe fair point, they do seem to be worse than Aston for that and they only have one engine!

I've just had a look round the GT12, wow! It's an epic looking machine. I'm absolutely not keen on the big rear spoiler, but take that out of it and it is amazing. I think they have done a superb job of creating a monster. Its as much a V12V as a DBS is a DB9.
Basically it looks like it would eat you and your offspring and spit you out with the feathers. Imposing beast, but retains enough to still be pretty.
It is so different in the flesh than pictures. Maybe it's a presence thing. I'm a fan.

Agreed. As is the case with most cars, the original always seems to be the best.

Which is track only and should be compared to FXX-K etc.
Ultimately it is all about personal preference and brand loyalty I wanted to like GT12 more than I did when I saw spec etc.Other people will love it.For me I would probably still have bought at say £175k but could not justify the package as a £250k car on any basis other than exclusivity which does not do it for me.
