Yes, but not the easiest car to drive on a cold Friday morning. Underrated, prices starting to creep, and a lovely way to waft around.

Prices are indeed creeping.
Took a look on PH and DB4's at £600K ,Lagonda £65K, 1969 DBS £140K,and a Vanquish from £60K to £130K.
Is this a bubble or are these prices realistic ?
I presume some of the high prices reflect the costs of some of the huge expense of renovation.

Simples my friend. When the "excellent" stuff gets really expensive it drags the ste up with it too. Look at 911's. In a few years time some will realise they have paid far too much money for a nail. Haven't we seen this somewhere before????

Not for one minute suggesting the "top end" stuff isn't worth the money though.

I love so much about these cars. They fit my definition of gorgeous, and I'm not looking for GT3-type performance.
The more I researched, however, the further they got from my definition of a livable choice. To truly enjoy one, I'd want to be able to drive it with confidence on long day trips and multi-day tours, but they were developed at a time when Aston Martin was largely making things up as they went along, and while we can proactively address things such as vacuum lines, I'd always be nervous about getting stranded a thousand miles from home with a problem I can't fix with a penknife.
So that's why I bought a DB9.

My experience of long term reliability is still limited but I know the Coupe pretty well inside out. I think there are a couple of things I'd want to check had been sorted - bit like the DB7 Vantage and its coils - but beyond that I have seen a lot that gives me confidence. Never many cars to go on of course but those I know specifically seem to have not had anything that would concern me in their ownerships.
Half a dozen or so cars for sale at present which is more than of late.

Never driven one - would love to try one. I suspect they are fast in a straight line and need nurturing around corners!

These, and the earlier Vantages are the Astons I grew up with. So will always have a soft spot for them. But they will need a garage...and TLC which I can't provide unfortunately! If I could, I would...maybe in my retirement will move out of town and get a house with a garage just to have one! But by then the price might be a lot more! Hopefully the bubble will ease off over time so they remain somewhat affordable.
