On my V8V (meteorite) AV Classics did small dent on rear wheel arch and bubbling on handles, fraction of the price of other local main dealers were charging, couldn't of been more helpful. Faultless job too.

I had my Morning Frost V8VR bonnet re sprayed and blended with the front wings and bumper at Chiltern Aston in Bovingdon.......absolute first class job, you would never be able to tell.

They had a 575 Maranello in there for paintwork along with a DB5, so it's not just me who think they're good.

The Aston approved bodyshop in Cardiff (dont know who they are)painted the bonnet (lightning silver) of my V12V before i took delivery and i have to say its faultless! i am really fussy.
Perhaps i was just lucky.
+1 These guys do a bloody superb job (as I loudly told the owner and the DP). My detailer told me it was the best respray he'd ever seen and he did a bit more on the now hard lacquer and it fully matches the shine on the rest of the car). Cardiff Stratstone were brilliant too - it was only a graze (rushing her into the tight garage as it had started to rain rolleyes) but it was sorted in 3 days.

+2 Davies motor company is the body shop and they are awesome the owner Sean has had a couple of Aston's. Go to stratstone cardiff, Richard is your man, they deal with the whole process superbly.

I think a full respray is in the 6k-7.5k bracket - I have a quote somewhere for mine from an approved service agent, but one that isn't encumbered by shiny dealership syndrome. So I'm assuming they're using quality, but value places.

The paint on modern Astons is, frankly, st.

The issues around door handles and the bottoms of doors are down to one or more of piss poor prep/piss poor execution at the factory/piss poor painting/piss poor materials selection. Which, in summary, would be piss poor on cars costing 20k, let alone ones costing 5x that.

On top of the door handles and bottoms, the lacquer on my bonnet is now also peeling. The car is 8yrs old in March. It's probably been treated better than any of my other cars (past and present) and it's the only one to suffer this way.

They must also use the same shop to spray their mugs, as I got two of these with the car and they are also suffering the same fate. Fortunately they will cost less to repaint should I elect to!

If I have mine resprayed, the shop will be asked to take the paint right the way back to ensure no recurrence of the factory problems. Though with 55k miles on it (my mileage has slowed right down in the last couple of years) it's value is no longer that high, and potentially not enough to warrant that scale of cost.
