broken promises....

Must stop expecting car salesmen to do what they say they will.

Not got to talking 'money' yet with Stratstones Derby but I got the impression due to the (in my opinion) cracking level of car prep, that there wasn't going to be much cash 'discount' but good to know about things like driving days, and Le Mans trips, I dropped that hint at my last test drive but it appears they aren't running any hospitality at the moment, just best to aim for mats, brolly, charger, etc. smile

No, you also have HR Owen and AM Works. There may be others but they are the ones that came to my mind.

Good advice here... Whatever you do just get any deal in writing - my local dealer was very openly bemoaning to me the fact that their rep takes a hit when something is promised but a salesman moves on and the punter is left high and dry if there is no record. I got their POV.

I pushed myself to the limit to get my Aston... 35 years after I set foot in the factory as a schoolkid, and, although my missues and kids love it, it was a slightly selfish spend. So I had to get THE very best value and package. I wont detail figures but I expected a DEAL as I had cash and no p-ex. Maybe that is old fashioned to some dealers but my best deals have often been with a black leather briefcase to hand...!

So I got a trade in that had been sitting for 2 months at a McLaren dealer and they wanted to shift it before the quarter end (a condition of sale). It was already priced better than older more miley stock at Aston dealers by about £3k. I also got a few grand off it, a full Aston 140 point check and sorted a fabulous 3 year warranty to kick in after their 3 monther (40 months warranty in total). I knew it needed tyres and a service within 6 months and a detail.

So just in conclusion just suss out the deal and the bundled extras and take it from there - there is a thread here about a 'no negotiation' DBS that makes interesting if slightly sad reading; its plummeted in asking price by now but is still there!
