A possible new AML model was mentioned today.
There is a link below, but first you may like a sneak preview, and please don't say they all look the same.
We have heard that remark before. -

Audi Q5 possibly?
Silver mirror caps suggest it's more a sq5 or more likely an rsq5
Very nice, but I wish AM would stick to sports cars and GTs. OK, I get the economics, market trends etc etc, but i really wonder how many people would actually buy an AM SUV over a Land Rover/Porsche/Audi/Mercedes etc - he says opening up the usual can of worms.........Silver mirror caps suggest it's more a sq5 or more likely an rsq5

Looks like a Hyundai or Kia. Having just been in China I appreciate the East is THE market for lux vehicles and everything is long wheelbase but AM need to do better than that. Interestingly didn't see AM in HK.
A BRose decat would sound fantastic bouncing off the high rise buildings in HK.

Happened to click the link and found it had stopped working.
Here it is again.

Perhaps Mr Palmer is right about this market.
This topic has included mention of;
sq5, rsq5 and silver mirror caps.
Some people are really interested in SUVs.

Well said.
Don't take my comment seriously. I was amused by all the letters and digits, used in the SUV model descriptions.
Sometimes when trying to park next to one of these monsters in a car park, I feel SUV Inconsiderate might be a better model name.
Commercially, it does perhaps seem sensible for AML to join this market sector, but if they use the Aston Martin title, would that dilute the sports car brand name?
Might it be wise for the SUVs to be sold as Lagondas?

I think an AM SUV aiming to compete with the Audi/Merc/Porsche/Land Rover alternatives would be an unmitigated disaster. 1. It would sell out and cheapen the brand. AM should stick to exclusive, world class GTs and sports cars. 2. With the likely available R&D budget, could AM realistically build a better SUV than those mentioned above? I doubt it could, then all the negative road tests would come out, and they'd all end with 'AM should have stuck to GTs etc.'.
If there's a market for it AM, look at hugely expensive high profit margin SUVs and sell them as Lagondas for the ultra wealthy in the Middle and Far East.
It will be a sad day if we see an AM SUV with a poodle in the back of it taking up two parking spaces at one of the remaining Tesco superstores.
Find a way to do what Ferrari have done AM. Please.
