Hello guys.

So I've recently been unfortunate enough to have my SL55 flooded and have a nice insurance payout and some cash on top. I am looking at an SL65 but then I started looking at Astons - specifically DB9s.

Now unfortunately, there aren't many for sale, even less so where I need them priced. My max budget is about 27k.

There's a nice dealer car out there but they can't go below 31k, so I figured - someone here may be looking to upgrade and, instead of advertising the car to sell or taking bottom dollar for a part-ex, maybe a deal could be done.

It's a long shot, but I thought that there's no harm in trying.

Also - I currently have a 997 turbo and the now deceased SL55 - how would you guys compare the running costs?

Not sure if £27k will get you a DB9 that won't need a lot of money spent on it or wont have high mileage. Interested to hear other opinions though as I may be over valuing my own car. I have a late 2005 car with 39,000 miles. Very good condition (£15k spent on servicing and maintenance over the last 2 years) and I just turned down a cash offer from Stratstone for £34k. They said they would resell for £39k

Can a well maintained DB9 (not the cars which you see contnuiously changin hands in the trade on eBay) really be procured for <£29k?

Well no, which is why I thought I would take the long shot of maybe someone having been offered a silly PX that might be willing to move quickly biggrin

In all honesty it looks like I really need to put another £5k into the deal to get a DB9 and, with getting married this July and looking to buy a house soon after I think it would rather upset the future Mrs if I did frown

It's an Indian wedding... if I could have my way and do the above, there would be enough to buy a new DB9!

Sukh, if I could get a car that looked like yours, I would be digging behind the sofa to make sure I had that extra few K... however I suspect that yours is probably worth triple that amount!
