Adam - surely there's a difference between driving at a Goodwood event (ie MM or Revival) and driving on the Goodwood track?

Lord March might not extend an invitation to the former but he's not going to stop you doing the latter.

PS Bob - yep, the original! cool
So smitten with all things Aston Martin you are Johnny, yet you have recently taken another path. confused

Adam, it is already agreed that Sir Stirling will drive MO55IE, the only issue to be decided is the place and time,,,it was he that suggested Goodwood. As Johnny suggested and I think we agree, although my 'replica' car may never take part in a Revival race, (prior to Lord March's recent comment I pretty much presumed it would not) I do not discount the possibility that a moment will be found, sometime in the future where MO55IE and perhaps some of her ASM LE Mans stable mates will drive together the hallowed circuit at Goodwood,,,,now wouldn't that be luuuurvely.

MO55IE goes to the Silverstone Classic. Being taken as an exhibit on Andrews (A S Motorsport) stand as an example of a car 'in the build'.

Graham, it is as SELON (Mike) said: "Part detective story, part antiques hunt, part engineering, part frustration, but all pleasure!"

This is a long shot but maybe someone can help; In my efforts to try to achieve the best external features match possible to the DBR1 #7 driven by Stirling in the 1958 RAC TT at Goodwood, I am in need of 4 of these bonnet latches,,,,I'm struggling to find any. I have someone that would make them for me but we need to borrow an original for a pattern. I've tried Chris Woodgate but he can't help at the moment.

Any ideas welcome. bow

You can get the Ferrari ones from the same period. Not quite the same but would suffice until you find some with the right profile:-

Great project.

Sorry Nick only just seen your post. Would love to have been there today and tomorrow but!

For the Stirling Moss Trophy I did listen to the online Live broadcast whilst watching the Live Timing screen. Bit of a shame with Wolfgangs DBR1, very disappointing to have to be pulled out so early in the race.

Hope you had a great day, the weather cheered up which helped, looking less cheerful tomorrow pm.

Hey Bob, they have this for sale at Mcgurks. By Aston's artist in residence. This would look great in the car shrine.

Paddy, BravoV8V not for the first time is reading my mind. I like very much the painting, of that there is no doubt,,,but the number for me is the killer, 7 or there's no deal. MO55IE, as she was at the recent Silverstone Clasic weekend, will be on show again as an 'in build' example at the Goodwood Revival next month. We shall be there too, really looking forward to it.

PS: Graham, pleased to know you've not lost interest,,,see you at Goodwood.

Already did that Paddy, Mike Harbar (featured in recent AMOC mag), created this for me. Fortunately both Sir Stirling and Tony Brooks that drove #7 to victory that day, agreed to sign the painting for me. Sorry the quality is rubbish:

PS: As a matter of interest, there were three DBR1's entered in the Goodwood RAC TT in 1958,,,they finished 1st, 2nd & 3rd.
