Aston Martin - Highland Hoon - October 16th/18th
Discussion
You're right, a set of Aston keys in the bowl should lead to bonus success...hadn't considered that vantage, but as you say Boris may take the cream.
The party is mainly Aston's so the bowl is full of promise...(a quality party if I might add), but wait - you have generation of Aston key shapes to consider...
Arrrh keyrings - ohh here's the heart winner...the keyring says it all...
What sort of keyring would make a winner?

We set out at 07.30 this morning to meet up with a load of PH Astons (and a McLaren) at Braemar. VERY cold but despite a proper ground frost the roads were OK. Lovely drive to Braemar with a DB6 Volante ( their heater wasn't working, top down, frozen---deserve a medal!!!),V8V and Vanquish (NP) plus my DB7V. Met up with Scotty and his PH crew. We had a cuppa and a chat and then headed off to the Lecht. It was an invigorating drive!!
We went our separate ways and our Aberdeen crew
had a very pleasant lunch at Muckrach Country House Hotel (highly recommended).
On the way home we dropped into Knockando Woollen Mill (also highly recommended).
As I left the car park the steering virtually seized--no power steering! The battery warning light came on and it didn't take long to suss out that the drive belt had broken! No power steering, alternator, water pump or aircon!
So we ended up on the back of a truck but got home OK.
If that belt had broken while we were negotiating some of the winding Scottish roads (at the National speed limit) it could have been very messy!!!

Inka the mut supervising the cleaning and checking the lift system really does make Bruce look like a monster truck

After all meeting at Edinburg AM and licking a few windows of rollers, Morgans and 599's we set off north over the Forth road bridge to find the back roads to Crieff Hydro

What a great back route! Thanks to Scotty and thanks to Andy for the fire works display out the back of his boxtser on the heavy compressions
We arrived in Crieff to a very busy hotel and our arrival caused a bit of a stir.
The view from the room was great

A long 270 mile route meant an early start and paying the price for the great weather. Roof still went down before we left though

The hotel owner got up early and brought out his old DBS and Mustang, both of which he had restored by himself

On the way up to Braemar we did some really "funky" roads

Suddenly we came across these guys and the brave souls in the DB6 volante roof down with a broken heater

We stopped at the Rowan Tree who had put on a fantastic lunch for us even though they don't normally open for lunch. Great photo op as well

After breakfast and everyone heading off in their own direction we decided to do a loop of the "Scotsburgring" (loved it!) and a slow(ish) scenic drive through Glen Coe as we've never managed to do it in good weather.
