I actually like this Bentley, of course being a showcar it is rather OTT, but would expect the real thing to be somewhat toned down in appearance by the time it goes into production.

This car should be of much concern to the powers that be at AM.

I like the back end of it and from the side but the front is like every other Bentley. The interior I'm guessing would be an absolutely awesome place to be smile

I actually don't mind the rear of that Bentley. The front is bloody awful though. The wooden interior is very nice.

The one thing I despise about the Continental is the rear end, the latest light cluster being revolting. This is far far better

I quite like it and will follow progress. The thing that should concern Aston is that the build quality and materials on modern Bentleys is IMHO brilliant and a major part of their appeal.Hopefully the next generation of Astons will improve enough in this respect to be competitive.

Out of interest, what would everyone say if this was (with a few style tweaks) an Aston Martin proposition (say, the new Virage), rather than from Bentley?

A few (more) from yesterday at Geneva:

The profile is very Vantage/F-Type/Merc GT. No surprises there then.

Interior is awesome. Just awesome. I hope you're watching, AM. There was also room in the boot for a couple of big bags.

Hmmmm....

Fugly. Just so fugly. What on earth were they thinking? That nose is just so wrong.

I think it is OK from the side but the front and rear are dreadful. It looks like they had two people on the design team. One did the side and the other did the front and back - and forgot to talk to each other. I think they will need to change these before it goes into production.

I'm warming to it though I'm sceptical about what will make it to the production version wink

Its pig ugly. I don't think any of us will be jumping soon. The side profile is nice and that's because its an AM ripoff

Exactly

mind you its looks like AM's Geneva show strategy was to wheel out a few limited edition rebodied specials/prototypes/track cars to appeal to some high roller as a stop gap, while back at base hopefully they are working on a consistent new range of cars that set a new performance/style benchmark and resolved design language, enabling the marque to live up to its coolest brand moniker from late 2015 onwards...

ie something that recognises the past and looks effortlessly elegant today and is a little futuristic, goes like stink, sounds like thunder, does 30mpg+ and emits nothing but water vapour.

otherwise God forbid I might have to buy a Porsche (VW), actually i couldn't do that I'd have to go Lamborghini, oh sh** that's a Audi/VW, a Ferrari/Maserati/Alfa Romeo then, no they're all Fiats, erm...

so who is making the coolest, most exclusive GT cars under £150k now then?

Mm.. Good question.. Of course 'exclusive' could be 'doesn't sell'

I think a slightly stretched version (with a couple of extra doors) would be what the Taraf should have been.
