Hi All,

Hope your all keeping well (I’ll assume yes considering the forum section you are in ;-).

Quick question – would a Aston Martin V8 Vantage fit into a garage that was 8ft 2 inches/2.499 meters wide?
I ask as I have found a house that I like but I want to be able to fit my future purchase into the garage.

Best regards,

B.

not sure how you would get out if you got the car in

my garage is 10ft wide and I have to drive in as close to the left hand side as I dare, so I can open the door to get out. I do have some bumpers on the wall should the door hit

so 8ft wide...doubtful...thats more of a junk storage room than a garage you can use for a modern car

The entrance to my garage is 2100mm and the width at the widest part (i.e, where you'd get out) is 2470mm. So that is almost exactly the same width as mine.

I had no trouble getting in and out of my Vantage when I had one. My GT-R is a bit more tricky !!

Thanks for your input - however I am not put off that easy. I'll push it in and out if I have to.

Anyone else with experience with a single garage and a Vantage?

Carpet on the wall is always a good idea so you can open the door against it. Also lowering the window is helpful, and then just lean in and wind them back up again. You'll have to breath in of course as you won't be able to open the door fully.

Another thing I found was that it was easier with the wing mirrors out as it gave me something to line up with.

My garage door is 7ft and there is not much extra internally. With a bit of carpet it is tight but not a problem.

Check the length of the garage too. The vantage may be longer than you think

Hi AstonB

My garage is 7' 6" wide, 90 inches, approximately 2300mm. It's tight, but it fits, and with a bit of carpet on the wall it works. I found it easier with my earlier V8V which had a key as opposed to the glass ECU, simply because it was easier to get the key in the ignition to wind down the drivers window upon entry to the car. The gap created by the window being lowered makes a big difference when space is tight. However if you are intending on looking at a later model it is not too bad. It's just not a particularly dignified way of entry/exit. But every time I open the garage door I know it's a small price to pay! :-)

Hope that helps

Best Regards

Cheers all, I have a gimp mask and I like it.... No trapeze though.

Garage is just over 17ft/5.2 meters long, according to google; Vantage = 4.38 meters.

Grazie,

B.

In one rented garage years ago I had to get in/out through the passenger window left open. It helps to have a car with no fancy electrics

this is what 10ft wide internal looks like, the door is about 9ft wide. A roadster will be easier to climb out of smile
