Hi all,
Well after a long time dreaming of owning an Aston Martin and a relatively short period of sorting out the deal on the car I wanted I collected my Vantage V8s SP10 Roadster recently from JCT 600 in Leeds. She was first registered in July 2014 and had just 1000 miles on the clock being an ex demo. Great experience from JCT in Leeds and very well looked after by Max and Mark. I am absolutely delighted and loving my first few weeks of Aston Martin ownership. She has now been polished to perfection and detailed by Paddy before Paintshield wrapped her in plastic. Have had some good runs out including an awesome drive with the top down threading my way up the North Cornish coast to Watergate Bay. Absolutely amazing. Thanks to everyone for their helpful advice and for those who PM'd me. The pics were taken by Paddy at Paintshield.

God, i think the lens on my camera phone needs a good wipe! The car had the front end and sills protected by paintshield and the roof protected with Gtechniq I1 and the body with crystal serum.

I spent two days on the car and it looks stunning now. It takes time to properly detail an Aston due to all the gifts from the factory, i should know, i detail more astons than anyone else, but once polished the paint looks amazing.

You've got to love ceramic grey.

Hi Paddy,

Nice work as usual from the forum specialist, can you recall if that was the whole front end covered or just partial coverage from a standard kit.

It all looks very good so congratulations to a very happy OP.

Enjoy……..thumbup

Well, the best course of action is to have the same thing done as Derrick has had done. That way, all the areas prone to chips are protected and the rest is covered by the magic pixie wee, as one of my clients calls it lol.

Paddy,

Doesn't the whole car get doused in Pixie P*ss before the film goes on then, or are you saying that you only P*ss upon the uncovered or exposed area's.

Sorry to be a dullard on this one but my brain hurts…..smash

You put the serum/sealant over the areas that are not covered by the film. The film covered areas have no protection under the film so it can bond properly. Some areas that don't require the film to be stretched or under any stress would be ok, but it's always best to have a bare surface to apply the film to. The film itself can be waxed over or a spray sealant can be applied over it,even gtechniq exo can be applied over it, but it doesn't really need it. However, it's never a bad thing to give the car a wax, even over a sealant.
