^^^^ O.K. Now that's cool... Not!

But, seriously folks, I must say I'm impressed with the "generally" positive response. Maybe you Brits aren't all so pipe-y and slipper-y as everyone says you are. LOL biggrin

I like the colour of the car. The yellow touch on the grille and calipers work well, although I think the tyre writing and GT4 logo are steps too far.

Don't like the carbon or drug dealer windows. I think it would look better with the original grille and bonnet.

Just as an FYI, the "drug dealer windows" are pretty much a necessity here in Melbourne where summer temperatures can reach 43C. Also, they're not as dark at eye level as they appear from this overhead shot.

I don't think it would work on a DB9! smile
The colour of the car is beautiful, the yellow accents are just about right.

The main thing is: you like it!

Cracking job.

Will get quite a bit of attention I bet.

That's positively a charm offensive for George! I think he is dead right on the grille, I'll let you swap it for mine, purely as a favour you understand.... smile

I couldn't help notice the OCD, lining the tyres up an' all wink

Oh, and before I forget. That's a great colour car.

Oops!

The GT4 race cars all have V8 engines, so wrong bonnet (hood).

KF, thanks for posting your finished beauty. The colour of your car is really really nice.

Congratulations biggrin

There's a context here that I think could be said, you are in America. We are over the pond is a society where historically we are very conservation and "dressed down" (unlike some other more fun cousins in Europe like Italian's who often have great dress sense and charasma). American car design has from the 50's been part of the country's shared drive for Space and beyond, there was a sense in the car design of speed and futurism. Later becoming American Muscle vehicles. I think in the past we in England often looked to the US vehicles with a sense of wishfulness at the glamour and flamboyance in the vehicle design. We often incorporated US details but with much more toned down appearance into the British designs.

IMHO your car represents the perfect American Dream. Full of speed and visual language that it will consume the road as it drives. If Top Gear USA test drove it they would go nuts with excitement!

What glamour is there in American car design?! confused

Most American cars are so vulgar and ostentatious. Would you honestly expect someone to arrive to a glamourous event in a Corvette or Mustang etc?

When Jackie Stewart ran his F1 team he insisted the tyres were all lined up on the articulated tractors and trailers. The white lettering was also touched up after each journey thumbup

Yup, can definitely imagine turning up in a corvette. Wouldn't describe this as vulgar.

And that Steve McQueen, he wasn't very glamorous was he?

Lovely looking car Karl, have you re-done your laser detector fitting for the interior lighting binnacle also? Surely a consultancy role in Q for you is only a matter of time smile

Fair enough. I think from that era there are some great looking American cars which stopped roughly mid 70's, sadly the newer mustang and corvette are rather ugly and I agree are not very glamorous. I'd rather have an e-type or a DB5 but I agree with w1111am that 50s - probably early 70s US car design was aped by others. There are exceptions which the Americans stole such as the cobra, but in general I would say the trend was the other way.

Anyway I'm derailing this topic. How the heck do you keep your garage that clean?! My kitchen is dirtier.
