For anyone interested, here are the books from the European roadtrips that Club Mulholland (formerly Gentleman Drivers CLub) organised in 2011, 2013 & 2014

http://www.blurb.co.uk/b/2469726-ultimate-grantour...
http://www.blurb.co.uk/bookstore/invited/5482576/2...
http://www.blurb.co.uk/b/6069340-italian-grantour-...

There are some really amazing photographs in there, including plenty of Aston ones (my V12 roadster on all 3, plus a 310 Vanquish & a V12 coupe on the 2014 trip)

There are also many other fine cars by Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, Lamborghini & others

Warning - Blurb books are amazing quality but can take a while to load so use a desktop with a reasonable internet connection, hit on 'preview' and you can scroll through the entire books - I'm not trying to sell the books as I doubt anyone could justify the cost unless they had been on the trips, just thought the photos online may be of interest to some

True.....£149 is a bit spicy for some holiday snaps but it does look a wonderful collection with some stunning photography.

The most expensive book is about 140 pages of large, best quality paper option with hardback but one of the real killers is ultra low volume - between 5 and 15 books typically

The photography was typically done (it varied each trip) by a pro or semi-pro photographer and then a huge amount of time setting the book

But absolutely, if you weren't on the trip, I can't imagine anyone buying one - that was never the intention although I guess anyone is welcome to buy ! If you were on the trip, it's an amazing keepsake for a relatively small premium compared to the cost of the trip - most of the members are proper friends so even photos of people other than yourself have more significance, as does the odd in-joke

I agree, if you were on the trip then thats quite a momento. We did one for stelvio trip in 2010 but that was a snapfish special that one of the lads did for all the participants....nothing on that scale though I have to say.

That sounds great mate - looks quite different to my stab! Can I PM you for the route? Many thanks as Google maps on the laptop is one thing but doing it in a car another!

I was planning on making a very similar trip this September. As this will be my first European road trip I would appreciate any advice or guidance. So if your kind offer of full trip details could be extended to include myself. That would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Nice one PM sent - see you for a blast to the top of the pass Chris!

How did you find Switzerland David - very happy to say within regs but don't want to frequent a state that makes ISIS look lenient if I accidentally transgress!

We had no trouble whatsoever and can honestly say we didn't alter of driving style just because we were in Switzerland. The only very minor issue was the border guards insisted that the Swiss Road Tax Sticker (Vignette) was actually stuck to the inside of the windscreen.

The other 'MUST HAVE' is the French 'Sanef' electronic toll badge for the French motorways.

I have sent all of the route to you this morning along with Chris

Looks like a convoy forming.... I have sent out my route to 3 seperate forum members this morning.... Why don't you all get together and go at the same time. I would recommend no more that 4 cars due to the size of the laybys on the mountain routes where you stop to admire the view... (And let the brakes cool down)!!!

Amazing detail on the route docs. Thanks so much David. Loved that Hotel de Paris link a bit too much €€£' (but it will be my 'big' birthday...)

Would be great to meet others especially around the pass. We'll be going in July soon after schools close and as my self employed workload permits.

Cheers
