After 6 years of V8V ownership I have finally sold it. Being a long time lurker (and occaisional poster) on this forum I just wanted to thank everyone for their support and good humour over the years. The camaraderie amongst Aston owners has been brilliant and it was a fantastic, characterful car to own. Am so pleased I bought the v8v rather than any of the alternatives.

Sadly with two children under the age of 3 it's use dwindled - down to less than 1k miles last year so it was the right time to sell it. We looked at Rapides (and I even considered a db9). However I have decided to be (relatively) sensible and consolidate the car collection. Having said this, am sure I will buy another Aston one day...

So what's next? I picked up an Audi RS6 yesterday. Whilst considerably less characterful (it doesn't make any noise) I have to say it is amazing car. In terms of raw speed it is much much quicker than the Aston and for a ham fisted driver like me, the speed is much easier to access. Whilst I never thought I would say this, there does appear to be life after the Aston!

Farewell for the time being .. Am sure I will be back!

Good luck
Often fancied an RS6 avant as a "sensible" car hehe

Great sign-off and all the best. When you come back to Aston there should be a very special line up on offer - keep your fingers crossed!

good luck, I had an RS6 before the Aston....a great car, probably one of the most practical and capable out there. I had it remapped/derestricted and it served me well for many trips to LeMans....just watch your driving licence smile
