I know they're sought after but really............
Discussion
I know these are a rare beast and sort after, but am I missing something here or are they just taking a punt (or piss) ?

I've no doubt that whoever ordered that car dropped an absolute fortune in Q's coffers, but surely a little like the B&O, it's very nice to have secondhand, but not at retail price.
Also, i'm sorry but anyone fortunate enough to be able to buy something like that and then only does 144 miles in two years needs a stern talking to (putting it mildly) in my opinion
Just for the record if anyone out there is tempted with this, I saw it whilst is was at Works a few weeks ago (being serviced I assume) and it really is lovely.

That hit my radar a few days ago, I like it a lot
Crazy money though especially as Works still have the Silver one at £40k cheaper!
But I bet it doesn't have purple splurges!!! I also thought Q cars had a badge but couldn't see anything - so what makes this a Q? I thought you could order a 2-tone interior anyway? Perhaps the badge was left off by the purchaser. Anyway, a lot of money... and you know the sales line will be "exclusive' now but the buy back quote will be 'unusual and not to everyone's taste - harder to sell'. :roll eyes:Crazy money though especially as Works still have the Silver one at £40k cheaper!
Edited to add that the I have just seen the quilting... that's a lot of extra for quilting ...
This is the car specced by the owner of Bramleys IIRC, who is a serial collector - suspect it's a toe in the water just to see what happens but I'm not certain of that
Q badges only go on cars where a LOT more is spent - as has been commented, the quilted stitching is the main Q area on this vehicle - as far as I am aware, there are only 2 V12VRs with quilted stitching - this one with quilted stitching on standard seats (done shortly after they introduced it on the DBS ultimate edition - this is effectively the same seat/pattern) and mine with quilted stitching on the lightweights, which I'm not aware has ever been done on any other lightweights in any Aston of any model, although I can't be sure
It will have cost very approximately £165 - 170k when purchased new in this spec and has effectively zero miles. If you badly want a V12VR, in a colour scheme that's a little different and love the fact it's got almost zero miles I can see someone possibly paying £150k but much as I'd love to think differently, I can't see this car selling at this price

It is lovely in the flesh, but even if I could afford it I would just feel I were being had over. I don't see what makes it worth anymore than any of the other's we've seen hit the market of late.
There was the Artica white and red one of late which had done 1k and was up for £140k.
I still can't forgive anyone for doing 144 miles in two years though, that's criminal. I did that this weekend

and ironically the worst part of the car (imho)I don't think it's possible now to get this exact contrast with a standard order, I don't know about in 2013... maybe each panel has been specified to be one or the other colour. And no purples in Aston's current palette...
something that is sort of similar colour scheme wise, especially interior

Therefore I wonder if it was originally purchased, as potentially the most interesting model of the Vantage 2005 to 2016 range.
Could a GT12 now be replacing this car in the collection?
nope - speciale is his latest acquisition
Simon has quite a few cars, there are many he barely drives - I wouldn't read too much into it (sensible though your logic is) - he just liked the look of it so specced one up.......

This car looks fantastic, but have to agree about the quilting. The interior is all about flowing lines and round edges, the quilting looks out of place with the sharp corners. To my eye anyway!

There is a purple - it is called Deep Purple. I nearly specified it on mine.I don't think it's possible now to get this exact contrast with a standard order, I don't know about in 2013... maybe each panel has been specified to be one or the other colour. And no purples in Aston's current palette...

all V12VRs are manual, just as all V12VSRs are auto
Ah, ok.How do they decide these things?!
When V12VS was launched 4ish years later, it was flappy (not actually auto, but a variation on the single clutch automated manual available across the V8 range). Again the soft top version followed suit, this time not as a numbered limited edition although I suspect total production numbers are unlikely to significantly exceed those of it's predecessor
