You can see the top of the drive from this one....no issues until the wheels fall in to the trough between the main road and my cobbles frown

What a pain. If it was me I'd 1. If the plank works, bolt it down. 2. Find some concrete / tar mac that best matches the road / gutter and lay that without telling anyone. Worse case is that you might be asked to take it up again, but I doubt anyone would notice or care.

looks like there is a high crown in the road. Does the road come up from the kerb?? If so raising the dropped kerb might help more then smoothing it.

If you could reverse out, as soon as the rear end is clear, if you go onto full lock, you could probably keep one wheel on the drive whilst the other goes over the dip. Then the front would still be high enough to clear as the other front wheel goes over the dip.

Think this might be the best option, don't think it would take much to accidentally drop some tarmac or concrete into the dip where the wheels would go. The plank bolted down would be far too noticeable.

I'm not sure what the problem is - isn't this self correcting because as you drive over it regularly the front splitter will simply be ground down until it fits perfectly?

What could possibly go wrong with that approach?

Behave yourself, Steve !!!

I suppose the next step is to try and drive in rather than reverse, with the plank down just in case. smile

Looks to me that the pavement is Tarmac on ether side, but the end of you drive is laid with small paviors (cobbles) which extend across the pavement to meet the road. Lifting the paviors and relaying to form a more gradual slope is not a major job. Shouldn't cost more than a grand or so, which if you plan to stay there for a while would be a good investment.

Actually, your driveway does look quite long. In that beast you should be able to jump the gap on the way out. Getting back in might require a little more thought......

Cant you get Karen to cut her nails before she shifts the plank?

Exactly what I'm after, though I'm still going to attempt a full frontal entry to fully gauge the angle of the dangle yes

I have suggested that Karen clips her nails as suggested and I am now the proud owner of a black eye and a swollen lip weeping

I do indeed see your problem. You have an orange drive with a green garage door. WTF

Bloody hell I forgot you're in Liverpool - if you do put a plank down it will DEFINITELY need nailing down !
