As others have said, seats are not easy. I had mine retrimmed so they were swapped out then. Personally unless you're willing to unstitch part of the seat (or a dealer guarantees they can do it) I'd leave well alone.

I can absolutely appreciate the apprehension, but replacing the seat switches really isn't that bad.

What about the seat controls? The later metal controls look so much better than the plastic ones.
