Howdy,

Curious to know if anyone has had the issue of using its AM less after purchasing a new old car.
Just bought a Maranello 550, and I love it.
The AM V8V is more comfortable, and I think looks better. But something about the 550 that make me pick that one all the time....
Will this wear off?

BTW: in case youre curious, there is a purchase report here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

How long have you had it? It's always inevitable that a new car will get first pick while you get used to it and find out new things about it but I suspect you'll go back to using both once the 'new car' moniker has worn off.

Yes.

After you have tried to pull out, from a few side turnings. - smile

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts after you've lived with both for a few months. Maybe you should force yourself to alternate between the two, once you're at home in the 550.

I was going to ask why you have both, when they fill the same role. This is of course a silly question; I have decided that a test drive is useless and you get used to whatever you're driving, and you never really know until you've lived with a car for many months, maybe even a year.

Had my 550 for nearly two years and not once have I had any negative comments or anyone act in the above manner.

Please don't take my comment seriously.

'Side turnings' is just a saying on this forum. We like to think there is a widespread good feeling towards Aston Martins. Perhaps it is being British, and all that work James Bond has done over the years. Strangers frequently wave, or want to talk to the owners.

I am sure it must be the same though, in your 550, especially when in it's home country.

Our cars cannot match yours technically, but we like them.

Love the vantage but it probably waiting for the 550 to rub off.

Well...,I overlapped db9v and my current 430 for a while. Ferrari is far more addictive. Obviously in my case it's gt versus sports....I hanker after having both in my garage ie getting rid of my a8 dd and replacing it with an Aston v12 but the wife would cut off my man bits and feed them to me if I did that :-(

Is wife objection due to lack of man maths or that she thinks you need a 'sensible' car?

You can always get a Ferrari 612 manual as a sensible daily driver wink

she thinks a virage *and* a 430 is just plain greedy. tbh the a8 is a superb car, so i should keep that as well. problem solved.

I just dont think it looks very nice. I am considering an FF but whilst the frontend is nice enough, the rest of it looks like a Bmw estate.
