At no point have I been negative Gibbon. I care for fairness yes As my other post says, it must be me.
Well, that is clearly subjective, and I beg to differ.

I too care for fairness, and though admittedly you didn't use the name in the title, your 'its the small things that count' thread, which was a report of excellent service from BR I guess you deemed acceptable, though this, although thus far just being a real time review of experience rather than a 'praise' thread seems to be souring your milk?

Funny old thing 'fair'.

For the record a have never used DA or BR, but inevitably will use one of them in the future and appreciate information and experiences passed on from both.

And I totally respect your viewpoint.

The reason I didn't use the name of BR in my thread title is that it is unnecessary as they "pay" to have their name at the top of our chosen forum yes

Ignore it, most are.

Please carry on with the thread and info as you have been.
James most are, what's happened is that you have trod on a land mine by not using BR smile Anyone who doesn't use BR is shot down by the BR fan boys on here, you'll get used to them smile

Great to see how open DAE are to photos and prices, so people can be informed and budget in advance for this sort of thing. Please continue to update the thread. Wouldn't mind get this upgrade regardless of clutch going, mine is on 52k and absolutely fine smile

Yep me too!

I'm new to Aston Martin world having only picked up my V8V on Monday. I have read various threads on BR but none on DAE, until now.

I'm enjoying the pictures and it's nice to read about work being done with the costs involved, thanks OP.

My Vantage is on 25k miles, there is nothing in the service history about a clutch change so I'm assuming it hasn't been done. Hopefully it will last quite a few thousand more miles before it requires replacing. This thread helps me to budget for a replacement should the worst happen.

Diablo plenty of +50k clutches out there don't worry smile You only get to here about the bad ones.

The clutch life and cost to replace is the main question any new or prospective owner has. This thread is ideal for letting people know what to expect and the improvements (upgrade options) to be had from either of the two great independents (DAE & BR) of these parts, above and beyond the standard AM replacement.

Perhaps BR Mike can do a similar thread with images and costs for comparison?

They have a whole sponsored thread top of the page. Full details on all their parts in there. They are not allowed to post in other threads as it goes againsts PH advertising rules.

I'll second this, for some unknown reason there appears to be a shroud of secrecy around the BR prices. I too mailed them in the past when I had my 4.7 and asked about options and costs for upgrades.....that was back in May 2014 and i'm still waiting for a reply.

It's not like they're selling magic beans FFS, why can't they just add the price of the clutch, flywheel etc to their website, unless of course the want to try and work out how wealthy you are before telling you the price........... sinister maybe, but certainly not unheard of.

^^^^ so true!!!!
Ill give anyone my hard earned money if i think they have earned it and that starts with replying to initial enquiries. DAE will more than likely get my money initially for the 200 Cel cats and then eventually the clutch.

Nope, it's not that. Mike has a very definite reason and policy for not publishing all of his prices on his website. It has been explained on here in the past.

Not responding to all emails and phonecalls immediately is another issue, unfortunately.

Seems a shame to cover that up with dirty lump of metal then hide it under the car.

True, but the cost of keeping yourself in pipes and slippers can't be far short shoot
