D Appleby Flywheel & Sintered Twin Plate Clutch exp.

Judging by the smell and far left pedal not working as well as it used to i think im in need of a new clutch so dropped it off at HWM this morning to see if i have the correct diagnosis. I know this is a regular topic for astons! My 09 4.7 V8 has done 21k so i guess i didnt do to badly. I was wondering if any of you have had David Appleby Clutch and Flywheel installed or similar and would you recommend it over just putting a standard clutch back in at similar cost. (David Appleby Clutch 3k installed Inc. VAT) Dont particularly like the pick up of the current clutch seems a bit clumsy and doesnt bite like you think it would.
Everybody has plenty of great things to say about the BR twin plate, although I've not heard too much about the DA one, although i'm sure there will be some knowledgeable folk on here.
I've got manual V8S and find the 1st > 2nd when cold is painful, you can actually feel the grind almost. I also find the bite point to be somewhat odd, it's a case of all or nothing, there doesn't seem to be anything smooth about it at all. I'd be keen to know the answer to your question too, as if a specialist clutch would make the whole process smoother then I could be in the market also.

OP with a MY09 manual at 21,000 miles,
and your MY09 manual at 17,000 miles.
Should I start to worry at 14,000 miles?
Why worn out at these modest mileages, when some of the contributors on here, describe more than
70,000 miles with original clutch?
I know it is possible to wear out a clutch (and tyres) in an afternoon, but would you both consider that you drive your cars hard, or reverse up driveways every day?

I think I read somewhere that BR have designed their own clutch (or flywheel) not sure which way around it is.DA now sell organic clutch, which is the one I'm getting installed tomorrow! James Appleby on his way down to fetch the car as we speak! James recommended changing a bearing (I'd assume something to do with clutch operations) as well so total price was 2800+vat not including pick up. Picking it up on Friday so will let you all know how it is! So far excellent service was on the road within 10 mins of calling him up as need the car back for drive up to Cheshire at the weekend! Also I asked him what he thought about mileage on the clutch and he said he hasn't had anyone come back to him burning one out he thinks easy 50k miles in same driving conditions. Will keep you all informed
