Girlfriend too short to drive Vantage
Discussion
Has anyone come across this problem before and found a solution? My girlfriend was going to test drive a Vantage V8 this weekend but couldn't fully depress the clutch (she's 5 foot 1 inch) even with the seat fully forward. The manager suggested getting a clutch extension from a place called SVO, which I'll look into, but she's a bit reluctant to go that route. It's strange as she sat in a manual Gallardo a few minutes later (next door showrooms in Pangbourne) and it seemed fine. Are Aston Martins known for being tricky for short people? We should probably have tried the Vantage V12 to see if it also happened on that but we ran out of time.
These are probably the SVO he mentions:

The could probably provide something that will swing out of the way for when you drive the car and then lower easily for your other half.
The alternative is a pad to go behind her, so that she sits a bit closer, as long as that doesn't compromise submarining/safety.

Seems strange - my missus is also very short of leg, but doesn't have a problem in the car. Admittedly the seat goes all the way forward, but she makes it fit. Perhaps try a couple of different cars to see if the seating is subtly different. Different seat styles will give more bolster, too. Bottom line, a cushion in the small of the back might just give the extra distance you need.
It's also worth asking yourself how often your partner might actually drive it. I have no issues with my wife driving the car, but I can count the times she has driven it on one hand...

I think this i common among astons and i think one of the reasons jockman was always left behind the other day, was because he couldn't fully depress the accelerator. It would seem that its something that needs to be addressed lol.
She could always get an auto.
You little minx, Francis !!She could always get an auto.
I managed all weekend like this but as the guys said I did indeed have trouble going round corners
