So I've been building up to my latest project. Had a 70 Mercury Cougar convertible in college and always loved the sequential turn signals. When I got my Aston I thought that was just what it needed. Here's my mock up. Purchased a used turn signal on Ebay to practice with.

Sequential LED strip off Amazon. This is with only a 9v battery for power.

I'll post a how to when I'm done.

We used to have that sort of thing back in the 80s. My Mk111 Cortina looked awesome.

I'm assuming MOT is some kind of inspection. All we ever have to worry about is our smog certificate. Might be a VIN check when you sell it. I have to say you seem to have a lot more you have to put up with over there and it isn't just with vehicles.

Off topic - but I have to say I wish I had as lively a group over here as you do.

That system is also on the new top range Audis A8/R8 so it must be both legal and MOTable, unless they bring out some regulation that it must be OE fit, like HID lighting.

The latest Mondeos have this as well, Ford claim that it's a safety feature although I'm not sure how.

Looking forward to seeing the how-to on this.

Yes, saw an Audi with this recently. I don't know what stuck with me more, the fact I thought it was kind of cool in a geeky way, or the fact someone in an Audi actually indicated. biggrin

yes watching with great interest,
I like the gradual full indicator illumination of the Audi Spyder, so the LED's stay illuminated as they turn on.
Great fun keep us updated biggrin

Indeed, and yo could even make each led a slightly darker tone of red as it moves across the light. starting with a shade of orange and progressing to an intense red. biggrin

Update. Looking into how to slow down the turn indicator relay. Stock 'blinks' too quickly and the lights only travel about half way across.
