V8 Vantage Values
Discussion
I am finding it hard to put a value on my MY07 Vantage. I have had a look through the classifieds and there is real variation in prices.
I passed Stratstone Wilmslow yesterday and they had an almost identical car (MY07, meteorite, obsidian, 39k miles) up for £38k. What would be a reasonable discount to this for a private sale?
Clearly mine won't have the warranty and has the usual stone chips but is in what I consider to be excellent condition for its age.

When I sold my 06 V8V I got a price from WBAC...... Then added £14k and that's pretty much what I sold it for.....
Seriously WBAC valued it at £18k......and I sold it for just over £32k to a private buyer...
Some dealers were far more generous than WBAC though, and offered as much as £22k
If a dealer is asking £38k for a car similar to yours, then I'd be putting yours up at £33.5 and hope to achieve around £32k in a private deal....

I agree with Quinny, similar experience so far as im likely trading mine in early next year I did some research
WBAC offer £18k for a 2006 car with avg miles 70K. Dealers offer in the low twenties. Will end up on a forecourt somewhere for £29995 i guess
I would like to think £25K private sale, but lets see nearer the time. Thankfully at the bottom end of the market it hasnt moved much in recent years...

I don't know if it's because a lack of available stock here in Scotland, but when I was in AM Edinburgh recently, a much higher price was discussed for my car than those mentioned above. So some dealers must be more generous than others? My car is a late '06, FAMSH, just about to hit 27k and also with a new clutch which may or may not make a difference?

From my (very) recent experience of selling an '07 V8V coupe, these numbers are very accurate. The spread of trade valuations was from £26k to £31.5k.
(The stone chips could be a problem if you want to get a decent price for your car. They aren't 'usual' for a car of this type, I'm afraid. If you don't want to get a professional to respray the affected areas, invest in a Chipex kit and some time on your part).

How have you managed to stop this happening to your car?
The highest risk areas (front of the bonnet, lower bumper, wing mirrors, front of rear arches etc) had already been covered with Armourfend by a previous owner. All other chips and blemishes were treated by me with Chipex.
When I sold the car to a well known AM independent specialist, the agreed price was dependent upon the car not needing any additional paint due to stone chips. I received the full, agreed price.
