Seems excessive to me too.
If pads were more than 50% worn he asked for them to be replaced so that he didn't have to bring in again before next service.

If he wanted to throw money away he'd have been better off giving it to charity and paying the butler £50 to take it to have its pads (tyres, discs etc etc.) changed at a local Indy when they actually needed doing. There's "Full Service History" and there's being utterly fleeced by the Dealer. Don't get me wrong OP, you've got a great car out of this but please ……..
Absolutely I agree but if money is no object then I suppose why not.

I should probably add that this was just his daily driver he has numerous other cars for "fun"

Consider yourself very lucky that the previous owner had all the "advisory" work done as well as the routine stuff. Many don't and simply want the stamp yes
Absolutely looking through all the invoices (I only listed large works) everything that was suggested or indeed remarked as may need in future was done straight away.

Example being "slight corrosion on mirror replacement requested rather than repair"

Over £37k in maintenance in 8 years? That is verging into 'more money than sense' territory.

I bet he also bought all of his tyres from the dealer too... jester
Yep see list tyres were also replaced if they had less than 10k miles left in them.

Will you be bringing it to PSCM on Sunday at Preston?

Be nice to have a look over it, also I was at Gaydon last week and I spoke to them about the deployable roll bars to which I got a good answer. So I'll tell you a little about that.
No sorry I'm busy this weekend.

Fantastic it's an amazing car.

Only small niggle is that I get low coolant level warning when accelerating hard despite level being fine. They have swapped over the sender but still the same.

If anything the coolant looks overfilled anyone any ideas?

Why did the roll hoops deploy?

Brakes, discs and tyres look nuts to me too.

Those two items to me would have made me very wary....but I guess some people could just do daft things at service time.
Went over hump bridge too fast & suspension travel went too far causing deployment although car didn't take off.

He refused roof repair & had full replacement.

Absolutely Rob! Sounds like a massive Euro trip undertaken plus daily use - 15k miles done and then a £2k profit on sale. Good story smile Wonderful cars smile
Not quite it actually had 118k miles when I bought it as per an earlier comment.
Had it 18 months loved it but needed to free up some funds for a project so sold it for £500 less than I paid for it & bought an SLK55AMG to tide me over.

I recall one explanation to the big maintenance costs, when reading this topic originally. It appears that the original owner was doing the high annual mileage, but wanted to avoid extra workshop visits. Therefore any work anticipated was carried out early, eg full sets of new tyres being fitted early, because even though only part worn, they would need replacing before the next routine service. I even think a complete new roof was fitted, instead of having a minor repair.

Any ten year old car, that originally had a high price, will obviously have the risk of expensive repairs, but the figures shown above are probably far higher than most DB9 owners experience.
You are dead right the previous owner was very wealthy & took car into Aston every 6 months & told them to replace anything it may need in next 6 months as he didn't have time for in between garage visits.
This included tyres brake pads discs etc anything approaching 50% wear was replaced.
This was his daily driver that he cherished along with fleet of "more special" cars for fun days out.
