Yes there's a guy a the Nordschliefe. I'm sure he was posting on here recently, or was it one of hte other forums. As I recall he bought it especially for the purpose, done some mods and got it all just right and he'd done loads of laps.
This might be the guy - not sure.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pHHGIQ-JDA

Thanks guys anyhow and will look up that YouTube link.

Those aren't track cars those are race cars
But as you can see LOTS of weight lost!
I'm presuming the OP is asking about road legal track day cars ?
Yes - exactly that - road legal track car retaining some comforts like aircon and a bit of leather - something you could drive to Spa or the Ring in some comfort then pound it round - and assuming you don't bend it, drive it back again. But as you can see LOTS of weight lost!

Cuda just cherry pick from Astons GT4 Parts bin, such as Suspension, Brakes etc & you'll have yourself a very effective track weapon. Thanks guys anyhow and will look up that YouTube link.

Thinking of doing it - just interested to see if anyone else has or has one for sale.
Thinking take standard Vantage, replace seats with Recaros, harnesses, half/full cage, sort suspension, engine mods etc...
Thanks

Hello, I have made my V8 Vantage S (sportshift) setup for Nurburgring/Nordschleife.Thinking take standard Vantage, replace seats with Recaros, harnesses, half/full cage, sort suspension, engine mods etc...
Thanks

1. Toyo R888. 265 in the front 295 in the rear
2. Camber adjustment
3. GT4 suspension. The original suspension is too soft and gets broken due to heavy compression in the "fuchröre"
4. Longdistance N24 brake pads = Endless or Dixcel
5. Rearwing. More downforce in high speed corners
Thats all. The car is excellent for the track but think twice it will cost you a lot of money.
The gearbox has been replaced (warranty) and I have had a engine failure (not on warranty)
It,s a great car, excellent handling, as fast as a GT3. It needs just a little bit more bhp. Have tried to installed a supercharger from America which gives the car 610 bhp, but the driveshaft was broken.
I,m a great Aston fan. And I thank them for very good service and support in Germany. (Aston Martin Testcenter at Nurburgring)
Sorry for my bad english :/

Many thanks for your interesting reply Thom1010 - and your English is fine - fully understood! Do you have pictures of your car?1. Toyo R888. 265 in the front 295 in the rear

Any more details on the ASM2 and engine failure?

Is this your car, which featured in the Nordschliefe YouTube video?
If so, do we understand this film was made when you had a standard engine?
Fantastic driving, and a very exhilarating video to watch.
How does your lap time compare with the N430, in the recent 24 hours race (perhaps you might not have the answer to this, because the public do not do complete laps of the circuit).
I've been setting up my '07 V8V as a dual-purpose car. Comfortable enough to manage daily yet able to handle occasional track duty. The only compromise I've had so far is the ride quality due to H&R springs.
Headers, high-flow cats, and muffler (added power, improved exhaust note, and dropped weight)
2-piece brake rotors, track pads, and brake cooling ducts (weight reduction and no fade whatsoever thus far)
Wheels and tires (Michelin PSS tires: 245/19 front, 285/19 rear. Wheels are custom monobloc forged wheels. Same width and diameter as the OEM 7-spoke wheels, but with more aggressive offsets. A lot of people get wider wheels and tires, but this increases weight. I'd rather drop weight from the car and not necessitate the wider tires.)
Lowering springs (better handling but rough ride on some roads)
Heavy-duty clutch
I'm in the process of getting new seats. Carbon fiber shells but still adjustable. Checking on fitment and mounting hardware to make sure they can bolt in without issue. They'll add bolstering without being full-on racing seats while dropping lots of weight.
Also planning to get a lightweight flywheel and lithium-ion battery, but I'll likely wait to do those as maintenance upgrades.
So far I've dropped 55 lbs (25 kg). Based on what I'm seeing for some of my options, I think 150 lbs (68 kg) reduction is entirely possible without any real drawback aside from cost. Last thing I want to do is make the car less enjoyable. The whole point is to make it more fun!
