Tyre changed........alloy scuffed !!!!

National Tyres did the tyre but in the process caught the rim of the wheel.

It's like just the lacquer has come off on the very edge. Anyway, to be fair to them they put their hands up straight away, told me to get it fixed and give them the invoice (and yes I have that in writing).

They were decent guys so don't want to take the piss with the alloy job. Does anyone know where can do this (local to Milton Keynes). Obviously I know Works can sort it, but I dread to think what they would charge.

Ah yes, they're about 2 miles from my house. I'll go and have a chat and I'll find out for sure whether Works use them and report back.........

Arghhh! What is it with wheel damage when fitting tyres - its a big hassle we could all do without. Some places have 'contactless' tyre changing machines (Hunter make them I think) but this just limits your options further and may mean more travel.

Here's mine:

Service manager was absolutely mortified after I went back and agreed to fix - but that's 4 days of no car and other hassle and then need to do the others to match etc etc

Ridic...

When you originally mentioned a nationwide tyre fitter, I winced.
I did not comment, because I was not aware of your location then.

Chesham is probably not too far from you. I go there now, because I am fed up with rim damage. The fitters there were recommended through this forum by Mikey K. They have expensive looking kit, and did a good job for me. I noted whilst there, that they do work for an AM dealer (don't know which one).

Lepson in Gillingham is pretty good. They can store the car for you (locked up with car with 2-post ramp, provided you don't need the car / have another car to use for the mean time. Quick to get back to Canary Wharf / London Bridge by train.
