My AM dealer suggested to me today that the Vantage is to get the Vanquish dash for MY2016. Anyone know if this is true?

lol - Sorry if I made your reply look odd - I deleted my "dashboard or centre console" question when I quickly realised the Vanquish already had the same dashboard as the Vantage, so you must have meant centre console. wink

That's what I have heard too. The GT12 has a centre fascia that looks very much like the one in the Vanquish except for the static sat nav. It will update the car well and see it through to the new Vantage whenever that comes out.

It is indeed true - from c. aug/sept (MY16) all vantages to have vanquish style centre console. Has been known for a few months now

There may be another model that will also have the vanquish centre console soon :-)

That will be the DB9 GT then?

For those with their name down for the DB11, I hear that the huge problem of steamed up lights has been resolved. The lights will have a small fan installed.,!
And that before the little AMG unit goes in, the first few will have twin turbo V12. Can't wait

No good at links but if you google Aston Martin GT12 and go to images then you should see the interior if you scroll down.

hope that helps.

GT12looks great and all that carbonfibre works well on it....hopefully a bit more luxe when they stick it in the standard Vantage

With all the various Vantage run-out models and revisions, it is difficult for customers to buy the final version of the Vantage. Perhaps that is the grand plan, to sell as many cars as possible.

V12V and V12VR buyers probably thought those were the very last manuals.
V12VS buyers might have expected that to be the most powerful road-going Vantage, then the GT12 came along.

Any bets on a MY 2017 Special, Commemorative model?
Followed by a MY 2017.75 Special, Commemorative Final Edition model.
The Aston Martin Vantage V12SCFE. - smile

Does that screen have to stay up all the time, to control the audio etc?

I read a couple of reviews where they were less than complimentary about these controls ('Japanese feeling')

I have never experienced it but are we sure it is an improvement?

I wouldn't read too much into the Gt12 dash - that's all CF and has a permanently open screen to save weight

I imagine it will be more like the dash in the vanquish with a variety of finishes

Is it an improvement ? Well not so much for the physical controls (IMHO), but with the new console comes a slightly different, more integrated infotainment set up, which is the biggest advantage

As for run out models, concentration will be on DB9 right now as that is to be replaced before Vantage. But of course we will see run out models of Vantage too, before it is replaced. They surely have to bring out some kind of halfway house between current V12VS and GT12 ?

It seems to have gone rather quiet on the manual V12 front. Erics - does your mate still maintain he has a regular production manual V12 coupe arriving in September ?

I find it amazing that they have persevered with the current console for so long...even on the Taraf isn't it? It's a big reason for me not upgrading to a DB9 -sitting in it in normal traffic would feel almost the same as my Vantage. Operationally its sort of ok, other than the infotainment, which is utterly appalling, specially when attempting to scroll though my iTunes. Still, at least its not boring and remains a brilliant car

I'd like to think that the screen drops down, but I can't find a single photo on line that suggests this. Hope it does though, Aston Martin putting function before design is quite alien.

I am happy with the look of the present centre console, but agree that usability can be fiddly at times. Recently I wanted to reduce the Audio Bass setting. Having not done that for some time, I have forgotten how to do it. Various attempts achieved nothing, so will now have to look in the user manual. Perhaps there is logic somewhere, but it beat me.

Only a small point. The car is wonderful really.

That and this smile it is laughably bad at times but you forgive it

What I should have said is that the sound is great (other than a fluttering speaker at the moment when I'm at seriously loud volumes). I have the premium sound pack and would love to hear the B&O...I love the dash speakers on that too!
