I'm thinking of chopping in the excellent Boxster S (rolleyes) and joining the DBS club.

This car has caught my eye, and I've arranged to go and see it tomorrow morning.

However, just reading Grants brilliant book, I see that this must be one of the early MY09 cars that doesn't have B&O sound. I did ask the salesman and he said it does, but it's clearly visible in the video that there are no tweeters on the dash top.

Is this a major issue come resale time? Are there any other benefits to having a later car?

Must say, the last two Astons I've had both had the 700w audio which I thought was fantastic.

Was this car anyone's we know on here??

Thanks for the help guys.

wavey Hi Mikey! What's 6MT? Oh, manual transmission!? wink

Yup. They're quite elusive things! I've been trying to find one and get it swopped before Le Mans. Pushing it now!

So there aren't any big no nos with buying an ealry 2009 car then, other than B&O (which I remember people saying isn't 'that' much better than premium anyway......)

You might even say it is 'better' since there are no motorized tweeters to go awry. Also, if you like the CF door caps, B&O cars don't have these fitted since they were never made to fit (only the leather type). So, any caps that fit a non B&O DB9 or DBS are options if you decide to change for some reason.

I've had the 700w and the B&O and I'll be damned if I can tell the difference.

What black is it? No elbow rest lol. No front parking sensors button near the gear stick? smile

For what it's worth, if I were going for a DBS, it'd be a manual and the usual FSH if you're worried about re-sale and having a lot of fun.

As people have said, the more technical bits and bobs, the more silly things to go wrong. Don't know that this is the case with the B&O...Unless, of course, you are very big into your sound systems, in which case buy a good iPod thingy and wear some Dr Dre headphones...
biggrin

Could also be Storm or Jet (or, theoretically, any black).

Storm it is …………… https://used.astonmartin.com/en-GB/Search/Details~...

Mileage has gone up too. Someone's obviously had a 350 mile test drive. Significantly more than the 4 mile trip up a busy dual carriageway they allowed me when buying my V8V (long enough for me to spot the slipping clutch that they "hadn't noticed"!). New centre caps too please. Make them show you the condition of the glass key before you complete the sale also. Not that I have any issues with this dealer whatsoever!
