Anyone can help, massive complaint against an Aston Martin garage. They have kept my car in for almost 2 months for a very minor body work- body wrap of my boot lid. Car has been returned to me 4 times with atrocious body work. It's been 2 months, the manager is stating he will compensate me for £300 for the hassle and redo the job with another third party body work company. I feel that is not enough and I should be compensated more. I have not had my beautiful convertible Aston for 2 months in this amazing weather, the stress they given and me paying over £1k a month on car finance - they want to compensate me with £300- not on!!

What can I do??

You could take it to Aston Martin Customer Care. I would put in a call there and lodge a complaint against the dealer. If this was purchased approved used then you might have a case, but it seems like a customisation and not official repair work so I'm not sure how they would cover it. Worth a try though. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted soon.

Not a lot. They've already offered you to get it re-done with another supplier and £300. They are not going to pay you for other losses e.g. car finance. Most you may get would be a loan car, whilst they get it re done.

I will probably have to go to trading standards and involve lawyers as I am not letting this go. They can easily take money off you but the service they provide is disgusting. I will ruin there name on social media with the contacts I have in media advertising and I will name and shame them. I hope the principal of that dealership is reading this because he should be very worried of his position.

Well as you may not know johnv8v there is a procedure for complaints so I have been exhausting all options. What does it matter if one blows now or later? The facts are there and ridiculous!! I'm sure they are scared and if you have any connections to them please pass on the message :x

Naming and shaming only works if the accused party is actually named.

Go and get the car then take it to a bodyshop of your choice. You'll back in it within a few days.

I would go to small claims. Likelihood is they would fail to show in court and you would be awarded damages and costs.
Why would they not show? They've admitted the work is not to standard, offered to get it re-done with another supplier and offered an additional £300. Not sure what else you would claim for in a small claims court.
Not defending the garage, just looking at the process realistically. However, I would have found my own supplier for bodywork after the 2nd / 3rd attempt and got the Aston garage to re-imburse me for their attempt(s) and any compensation I could have squeezed out of them

I can't see you winning any case against them other than getting the paint rectified to a perfect standard and £300 compensation. They were rectifying damage from a wrapped boot. If it took them 2 months but the job was perfect you'd kick up a fuss but would probably be on your way, so you can't exactly expect them to start paying any compensation other than what they have already offered. It's not as if they were painting damage caused by their bad workmanship/damage. I would say get the paint done, take the £300 and don't use them again. I fully understand you are pi55ed off over it, but don't let greed and anger take over. It'll cost you more of your life and energy in the long run wink

Two months? Says as much about you as it does about them by the sound of it.

Jon you shouldn't be too dismissive as this is what the dealers rely on. Audi sold me a car once with a dpf which pissed me off no end because it kept needing to be replaced due to non regeneration. It took me a year but I managed to return th car and claim decent compensation too. The OP should press on and shaft them as much as he can. They may then begin to learn that there are consequences. Btw, also managed to get the sales manager at the time fired. The man was a cock so it was quite pleasing.

Did they not offer you a loan car while yours was in?

I read about that the sales manager who got sacked because of a client, ended up topping himself!

I've had my fair share of issues with dealers and even vented them on here. But coming onto a forum where there's been very little contribution soley to slag off a dealer thats not named is a little odd. If the OP was interested in us helping resolve this then he should have engaged earlier.

Dealing with dealers that don't play ball requires capturing evidence, writing to the DP, expressing key things etc. The "Social media" threat is largely a waste of time as the damage is done once you complain. The only time social media really makes a difference is when a bandwagon of people get behind a complaint and it dominates. A guy complaining about a dodgy wrap on his Aston for me is unlikely to get that however good his connections are.

Now if a regular contributor was being turned over we might chip in with support.

OP perhaps you could rewind a bit. Can you provide some pictures of your car and the area you have the complaint about. Also what work did you request and the costs as this would be relevant to the compensation offered. I guess your car is not the 8 year old one you have mentioned before as you are paying £1000 a month to finance the purchase. If it is that car I have some PPI you may like to buy.laugh

Be interested to know how much the job was as well. £300 for a single panel wrap which is what it sounds like must be the best part of a full refund. If that's correct, then what are Trading Standards going to suggest - you have your money back?

Sorry... something doesn't smell right to me for whatever reason.

yep, can agree with most of that. somebody above said that there are no rules. in fact, even if the dealership has done *nothing* wrong, there's still nothing stopping you being a pillock and pursuing a claim regardless. in my case, there was no court action involved. i hired one hell of a tt of a lawyer. he was ex-motor industry and badgered the crap out of the dealership until they were losing money and time dealing with me. yes, you can pursure the complaints process but imho, those things exist to slow down the punter and only work in the suppliers favour. all that said, who knows if the OP is genuine or not but then i could also be santa claus so what do i know :-)
