had mine fitted, the increase in noise is immense, sounds like I'm ripping open a gateway to hell!! I'm just not confident that everything is right, perhaps they fitted 100cel or they didn't do the connections up and it's blowing? If I go under a tunnel and floor it, it literally hurts my ears it's so loud. Might be being paranoid but I think it's getting louder!

Now I'm not being a Nancy boy, I've had loud cars, one was an RX7 drift car that run a single turbo with a very free flowing back box and a external waste gate. The Aston on full chat is louder!!! Also got the Exige with 200cell cat and a free flowing exhaust, trips the db meter at 99db at three quarter revs on the static test trackside, the Aston is a whole different level!

When I'm just maintaining a constant speed on a level road you can hardly hear anything. And on tickover when you're in the cabin you can't hear the exhaust at all.

I'm planning on taking it to a garage at the next opp just to get them to put it on the ramps and see if they can spot anything obvious. But before I do I thought I'd check on here first to see if it's normal?

It is definitely f'ing loud! On a recent track day definitely amongst the loudest cars there, so you may find in fact it's normal.

Yup.
I had the full manifolds and cats. So loud I had a supplementary silencer fitted because I felt a bit of a cock.

Yep, Ive heard them and they are loud.

next step, is manifolds and maybe a backbox for the full race car effect .....a bit of a novelty for a few hours perhaps before you want a standard car back again smile

...the standard (early) car with fuse open, I never found lacking. Later cars were quieter, even 4.7 factory "sports " exhaust models seemed quieter than early 4.3 with fuse out

I took my 4.7 to Bamford Rose and had the 200 cats fitted along with the N420 airbox and their ECU program. Change was immense with much better pick up and a definite increase in speed. I think this all equates to about 20 BHP increase. Standard of work was first class and I have had no warning lights on. The sound was fantastic and this fact was mentioned by many of my Aston owning friends. I did find that at higher revs the sound became too metallic and too loud and I found myself backing off. I made this observation on here and Mike at BR contacted me and offered to fit a new cross section in the exhaust which refines the sound. This has now been fitted, amazingly with no charge to me because they consider it to be an improvement to the original mod and part of the customer service. My opinion now is that it is quieter on start and at low revs but is I still a great sound and one which gets better the higher up the rev range you go. The car seems smoother as well and all in all I am very pleased.

The car is definitely loud with 200 cell cats and rear exhaust. I have both fitted to my car and was measured at 116 db (not sure if the measurement was done according to a specific procedure, so take that with a grain of salt). I was also black flagged at Road Atlanta for being too loud during church hours biggrin
