Hi All,

Anyone else replaced their P Zero Corsa's after 6 years and 11k miles irrespective of the remaining tread ?

I've noticed that grip levels aren't what they used to be when pushing on and can only think that the heat cycles, etc have degraded the compound of the tyres.

Interest in views, given I'm thinking that the tyres have past their prime and I should probably play it safe and replace the set.

Next question, replace with Mich Super Sports or stick with Corsa's?

Cheers Jon

It's not really the heat cycles it's the age and subsequent hardening which can make a tyre with good tread unusable. Although only six years old is a little early unless the car is stored outside - but not unheard of.

Check your pressures haven't been affected by the warm weather before condemning them, but new tyres are always awesome! biggrin

What is the tread depth? Even at 3mm my rears (albeit regular tyres) have lost a lot of grip and need changing. That's with only 9k on the clock in 18 months.

I would have thought it was down to the degrading of the tyre compound. I thought the perceived wisdom to keep the tyres at peak performance was that tyres should be changed every three years regardless of mileage.

As for tyre choice I changed to P Zeros on mine from Corsas as I seldom drive at 10/10ths and I had little confidence in the Corsas outside perfect conditions. Our car is used in all conditions, foreign tours etc so guess your choice will be influenced on how you use the car. nver used the Michelins so cannot comment.

This question has come up before and I hoped to get a definitive answer as to age replacement rather than wear. I wrote to Michelin technical department who say 5 years is the limit on life expectancy of the compound. I realise your are dealing with a different manufacturer but I presume the info is relevant.
