How so? Looks like silver/gray/black to me. Edited by DB9VolanteDriver on Sunday 26th July 23:16
It changes from almost silver in strong sunlight to a hint of green when cloudy. Here are another couple taken on a different day with medium cloud cover.
The wood comes out a little strong on photos it is not as 'side board' in reality. Anyway it is a matter of a few minutes to change to another capping and ski slope.
we're quite liking the look of this. 2007 with 47k on the clock with AM service history. In the for sale seaton of PH.

I was in a similar position to you OP and after approx 8 months I found the right car at the right price. I would have liked a jazzier exterior colour but there are only a handful aroud, that was my compromise. However I love my chancellor red inerior and it is also quite unique, probably not a 'safe' choice but I bought the car for me not the next owner. Buy the car you want in the colour combo you like.
Mine is Meteorite Silver with Black interior and black waterfall interior - pretty classic combo but to me the Silver is not silver its dark grey black..I like Flugplatz Blue so had the calipers coloured when i got the brakes upgraded to DBS spec (recommended) with the switchable exhaust (previously recommended) and added some leather stitching of the same colour
When buying originally i was really after a Titanium Silver car as its brighter and true silver IMO, ideally with a more colourful interior - blue or red, but not many of these around at the time.
Celeste Blue is pretty cool and rare in a DB9 as is Quantum Silver and Storm Black (includes red flecks)
What AM call Silver (there are loads of silver variants!) or Black with black or blue interior is probably the way to go if you care a lot about resale value. IMO the light bamboo wood waterfall only works well in lighter exterior colours. The walnut waterfall interior is pretty cool but dated for some. Still these interiors can be switched out reasonably easily if you have the money.
IMO I really like the DB9 Volante Woolders late of this parish has/had, i think it was a 450 bhp dark blue (there are lots of AM blues too!) with the wood and sandstorm interior, and he added a bunch of bits to upgrade the performance and yellow brake calipers; looked very cool, sounded mean
Re the hoods on Volantes; I've had motors on both sides replaced as they failed 1 year after one another, so ask if they have been replaced and test the mechanism. Crap AM design, the motor sits in a housing where water runs in and rusts it, so when you open the roof in the spring having overwintered it seizes. Got to remove the rear seat to replace the mechanism by the rear wheel arch. new motor sits in a housing with holes drilled in it so water drains out, simples. i wouldnt advise trying it yourself. i watched Adrian at BR do mine, took him a couple of hours and he's an expert.
Buy one with a decent service history and make it your own. Talk to a few indies who know about the cars and have them pre-check the vehicle prior to purchase

Yeah, still umming and erring about whether it should be a convertible or not. Ceratinly she likes them, but as with all convertibles, they dont quite have the lines of a coupe. They're still beautiful of course.
I like the fact that everyone feels free to express themselves with their colour choices. I like the bright silver, grey and black, but Helen doesn't think she could live with a blue, iron ore or even light grey or cream interior, which is common with them. Dark grey or black inside and out is really what she wants and I can understand that. It's a dream to own one, so might as well get her what she wants.
I love the fact that you guys have varied taste and aren't scared of a bit of colour though. Not every AM needs to be grey and black.
I have another quick question as well. Do the cars drive significantly different with larger wheels on? Do 19's or 20's make the ride harsher or noisier. They look better in my opinion, but do they reduce the ride quality? We have a C4S for shaking our fillings loose..

What might Mrs Nuffield think of this colour?
Some Aston Martins change colour when the sun shines on the paintwork.
This lovely photograph by Ken Figenus, shows the right hand car in sunshine. When not in sun, it is light metallic grey.
