Time for a new clutch?
Discussion
Hello all, I'm looking for a little advice about a little issue I experienced today (2007 V8 Manual) ...
- On a couple of occasions (not all the time) the clutch felt heavier than usual and I had a little difficulty getting it into gear.
- With clutch fully depressed (still in gear) and the car moving, I can hear a whirring noise that slows to a stop (like a shaft rotating to a stop). When taking it out of gear (clutch still depressed) the whirring stops immediately.
- No weird noises and drives normally when clutch is engaged (foot off the pedal) and in gear. No sign of slipping.
Does this sounds like a case of needing a new clutch (it's probably due one given mileage)? Or maybe a pilot / release bearing? .
Thanks
Rich
