Hello all, I'm new to the world of aston martin, and I just wanted to ask a quick couple of questions.
Having purchased my first db9, I have found that it is lacking any form of puncture repair. There isn't any compressor or sealant and no brackets /trays to put them in. Can anyone recommend somewhere in the UK that can sell me the whole lot?
Also, out of interest, what sits behind the rear 'seats'? There seems to be a huge hidden void between the seats and the boot.
Finally can the satnav be upgraded, and if so how?
It's a 54plate by the way.
Thanks in advance!
James

Hi James. hope you love your new Aston....

- The car came with a compressor and puncture repair sealant. Normally in the boot in recess on the right. if it's no longer there (and it would be out of date if it was), there are several aftermarket sealant foam alternatives, all much cheaper than the AM replacement option.
- The battery and sat nav disc player are beneath the rear nearside seat.
- Sat nav can be updated with Volvo 2104 RTI update 31428072. You get 3 DVDs covering Europe (England is in Disc A), and it gives you full postcode search facility. To replace the sat nav DVD undo the kick plate in front of the rear nearside seat, and simply switch the discs over.

The void you're referring to contains the fuel tank I believe. The gearbox and exhaust system occupies a lot of space back there, the car is fairly low, and the fuel talk is larger than a 'normal' car.

Thanks, and yes, I absolutely love it!
My sat nav disk is in the boot, didn't think it would be so simple!
Can anyone recommend where to get an update? Or possibly post me a copy??
I figured it was a particularly large fuel tank already!

I recommend NOT getting that foam stuff. I once used this stuff on my db9 when I got a puncture and it made a huge mess of my alloys, plus the air valve needed replacing. If u have tyre pressure sensor then it'll make a mess of that too and possibly even damage it.

+1.

I think my canister of goo is probably out of date, but my intention is not to use it anyway, but call for help.
With Astons, it is understandable that there is no spare wheel, because there would be no room for any luggage.

However, with some cars there is a recess for a wheel and tyre, no spare wheel, but a canister of goo.
That is a five star Micky take.

I was of the same mind with the goop, more for show than anything.
Does nobody fancy doing me a copy of the map update? I'll buy you a beer...

Did you follow the link I posted above, as all you need is a look around and a DVD burner (on any pc/mac) and you'll always have the latest maps?

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him how to fish....... wink

Just give it a go, it's not a scary place! Then buy me a beer for never having old maps on any car you drive!
