Hi All,

Been looking for a 56/07 reg V8V for a few months now and all the nice examples seem to be 37-40k I'm sure a few months a go there were some lovely examples in the 33-35K range. Is it due to the time of the year or are prices going up ?

Also are the seats easy change ? was thinking if I got an 06 reg i could fit the new style seats, seen a few on eBay for £600ish

I don't know re the seats but sure someone else will be along to answer that one but on the appreciation question I think prices have risen a couple of thousand over the last couple of years as evidenced by old buying guides but i think this is happening very slowly. Who knows re the future but I can't see them dropping much...

I bought a 56/07 V8V two years ago for just below £40k, and, yes, they seem to be the same price now. Like you say, I am pretty sure last year there were some in the low £30ks.

I would guess breaking up through £40k will be a barrier, though.

there are a thousands more 2006-7 cars sold and on UK roads than later year cars when sales slowed. So later cars will hold even better. Still it does seem after tanking in the 2008-2009 recession prices have stabilised and keeping pace with inflation. £30k in 2008 is worth £37k now just keeping pace with inflation....

Early last year you wouldnt see at the dealers any 4.3's above 50k. Now you see 3 which for a "older" car is pretty good. The only 4.7's below 50k are "high mileage" ones. And i say high mileage, Aston sense of the word!

I think the spike maybe because there is still a little apprehension in what AM/AMG are going to offer. The "get it while you can" mentality.

But as i keep on saying, a 4.7 manual, no body kit, non-silver, grey, black colour is a future classic!!! lol

Your red car is a cert. smile, but I wonder if this one might be wanted.
Admittedly it is one of the greys, so therefore on your list, but there are only about two of these in the UK (manual, coupe, std susp).

The early cars certainly have all the right ingredients - manual, NA, noise, required driver involvement etc.
I paid £35k 2 1/2 years ago for my 07 40k miler. Its now at 57k miles, no idea what it might be worth tho?

£32k? They seem a little mile sensitive.

I agree i prefer the simpler, less fussy original design.

I bought a well spec'd 27k m mile 2006 Vantage for £35k from a main dealer 2.5 yrs ago, probably paid slightly over odds as main dealer and warranty etc, but i hope its been pretty reasonable motoring value wise over the last 2.5 yr. Its now on 37k miles and i'd hope would be worth 32k ish. Cant really fault that value.

The harder question is what to replace it with.

If I sold for £30k next spring after 3 years of ownership I'd be more than happy.
Got to be happy with just £5k depreciation over the 3 years!

I'm also struggling to know what to swap it for.

I sold my mint 2007 model 56 plate with 16,000miles for £34k three years ago (lost £30k on the car).

Back then thought they would have been down to £25k by now

I would say private you may get between £35-38k. Its the mileage which will decrease it, we all know that wrong but thats the way with Astons.
As a guide, Stratstones have 2 2007, coupe's admittedly. One hitting 31k and other 32k in mileage. They are coming in at £39 and £40k respectively. They will come with Warranty etc etc.

Im willing to be told differently though but also its coming towards the end of summer, so all convertible type cars start to take a hit. Although i would suggest this may not really apply to a car like a Aston.

Been getting offers of £25k for 4 years or so now for a Jan 06 with 50-70k miles, values certainly seem to have stabalised and maintaining value in line with inflation

I'd chance my arm privately before giving it away for that.

Judging by the Pre-owned list, it is sometimes difficult to know if prices are rising or falling;

Jan 2009, MY 2008, 4·3, Standard Audio, 21,000 miles = £51,000.

Aug 2010, MY 2010, 4·7, Premium Audio, 44,000 miles = £48,000.

Would it be the mileages?

True, but I don't think we have seen a 4·3 priced at over £50,000 recently.

Bonkers.
They're trying their luck due to the low mileage.

It would have to be the 4.7; the miles are hardly high, 2 years newer, 2k cheaper, more power, premium audio - no brainer.

I really don't get people that buy these high cost low mileage cars.
Use the thing ffs!

Another point concerning that particular 4.3.
It would have been built before September 2008, and therefore presumably 'sat around' for at least four months. Probably not an ideal beginning for the car. It was the era of cancelled orders.
