Had a glorious weekend across Wales with her but she did have a little splutter this morning and stalled. Restarted immediately and still runs fabulously and pulls like a steam-train. Do still have this error code though. Think it was just a hiccup and just needs a reboot but don't fancy a trip to the dealer? Anyone any insight pls?

HI Ken - I've had this a couple of times, I think it's just one of those errors that appears from time to time. I bought myself one of these and reset it...

I have had this appear a few times on my DB9, looking into it apparently it's a common occurrence. I purchased a cheap OBD reader from ebay and just cleared the light, it did not show any fault codes before I cleared it. Funnily enough the last time it came up it cleared itself after a couple of days.

However I have just had all 12 ignition coils replaced due to a misfire and one website I looked at did suggest this can cause this warning.

Thanks guys - have some OBD stuff for another car so will see if it will clear this one as the car is 100% firing on all 12 and as I suspected its just a little 'they all do that sir' hiccup. If it comes back again obviously I'll have it looked at.

I've also had this a few times, always happens in stop-start traffic. First time it cleared itself after a few days. Second time I bought a cheap OBD reader and checked the codes and there was nothing so cleared it and it has not come back. Car runs perfectly and has been checked twice by a dealer and they can't find anything so I think it is one of those "they all do that sir" problems. Had it on other cars including a BMW and a Porsche. Unless the problem comes up often and is reliably reproducible the dealers can't do much to trace any issues.

Same happened to my DB9 recently, took it to dealer and they cleared it. they said "they all do this from time to time". next time I will get a OBD reader and clear it myself.

It can be:-
TADTS
O2 sensors(s)
Signs that the catalyst isn't working properly.

Don't just clear the message, find out what the code is via the OBD port

Mine does this too, occasionally.
I reset it with the cheapo OBD reader and it's ok for another couple of months or so.

Edit: Mine doesn't splutter and stall though.

She only spluttered and stalled once and at first startup. Cleared the code and all seems fine. If it doesnt work I'm biting the bullet and getting one of those straight through Larini systems with no cats wink
