It dawned on me recently that very few Astons have quad exhausts. As they generally have humungous engines and are keen to radiate a sporty, nay aggressive look, this seems surprising.

And so I looked for quad pipe conversions for the DB9. Absolutely nothing. Why is this?

(on a secondary note I was surprised to see today that the chrome trims in the bumper aren't actually attached to the exhaust pipes!)

I like discreet look of 2 / dual exhaust pipes ; Too many 4 cylinders have 4 exhaust pipes these days .

Agree. Astons are meant to be classy grand tourers although recent ones seem to be going down the brash, shouty route for some reason.

4 exhausts only really suit mid-engined Ferraris and Lambos.

I thought that might be the reason, but I'm surprised there seems to be zero demand for quad pipes. I found some body kits, which I consider a far more extreme mod, but not a single quad pipe offering.

I agree that quads on a 2.0 is 'Gary' territory, but think a 6.0 V12 could warrant them. The closest equivalent is perhaps the XKR 5.0.

Having lived with a DB9 for a few months now it's interesting to reflect how a car that once seemed to have an ego of its own is now perhaps too subtle - well at least in Pentland green. I'd quite like to have a 'V12' badge on it, but even that doesn't seem to go anywhere that works. Damn these classic designs...!

Loving the mod but would the standard back box and pipes not be a straight fit from the Vanquish S? May have been easier or cheaper maybe? Probably still need to cut your rear valance though

Put small V12 badges on the front wings and buy a V12... number plate. wink

The best I found was a pair for £100 - but somehow they will look over-fussy I think... And £100 for two bits of chrome-flavoured plastic that would be £4.99 in Halfords is nuts, but then it is for an Aston sir.

Have considered the V12 plate idea but I'm happy with the current normal one.

Amusingly, since what you *think* is the end of the exhaust pipe is effectively just a bit of tube stuck in the valance, you could buy two matching bits of tube and bung them in. They wouldn't be connected to anything, but then neither are the current ones!

When we did this for FloSpeed the Vanquish S with Quad exhausts wasn't released so think they maybe copied us wink
